AI being really stupid with invasion fleets?

So the AI has been blockading a system of mine for maybe 15, maybe 20 turns, no invasion fleets present.

I swing a big fleet around through a couple systems of theirs on the way to alleviate the blockade.

On a system adjacent to the blockaded one, they had 3 invasion fleets with a whole lot of invasion power and no MP.

Why wouldn't they have sent this fleet out to conquer my planet? What were they waiting for?

Needless to say I blockaded the system and have started to wipe out their invasion fleets... but the AI could have taken over my system by now if they had sent them! What gives?

AI is stupid. It needs to cheat massively to even have a chance at winning.

They hardly ever use troops either which makes them very,very slow to take defended planets.

the ai can be quite stupid but perhaps they did not want to capture your system, just to cripple it through blockade. the ai might not want the low approval that a captured system inevitably brings.

The AI also stacks a multitude of fleets in one spot when threatened. You can exploit this by sending a single powerful fleet to one of their stars on the edge of their owned area. They'll fill the star system with a stack of fleets and you can hold them there forever with that one fleet if you guard the star. Don't attack unless you know you can beat them without loss. If your fleet is strong enough, they also won't attack, but will continue to send fleet after fleet.



This won't work on a human, but it works every time on the AI.

Hello.



The AI is stupid. In my game there are two races at war, and meeting at a system of one of the race. The attacker hat 14! Fleets and the defender had 13 Fleets. And guess what: there are doing nothing! For 30 turns there are sitting there and doing nothing. The defender don't attack to break the blockade and the attacker don't attack the defenders.



I declared war on the attacker and nothing happend again, they are keep staying where they are! If i want, i could destroy all their systems, because they are sitting there.



For now i stop playing, because it makes no sense with this AI.



Is there hope that the devs are working on the AI in the future?
