I mean like new Updates like it used to be or something else. Or it is de-facto a dead "project"?

No more updates it seems and tech support is dead... But there are some mods, a very few (like mine) and a cool community so dont despair haha ^^

We'll know more in 6 weeks I assume. Once El and/or DotE are released, we'll see if anyone pays attention to ES again. Until then, I'd say maybe, but not likely.

That would be sad indeed. I have always liked ES (with several other promising 4X games) and it still has much more potential to unleash via patches, new things etc.

Don't misunderstand though, I think ES2 is in the works.

Officially, there was never tech support.

I hope so smiley: alder I might actually even prefer that to Amp picking ES up again.

I think there will not be any ES 2. And I agree with Stealth_Hawk, I prefer that Amp pick ES again...

This continues from the other thread: If we do not get a decisive answer about their stance on ES and it's future, I will hit one or two more achievements that I want and shelf ES as well. I'm getting ready to move on.

Actually, I meant I prefer they make an ES 2 smiley: wink Which is precisely what they said they wanted to do.

In the past Spacetroll said that they want to make a sequel, but that was quite a while ago. I can only hope that is still their intention though.

I'm with you there. The dev blog states that they'll do some bug fixes after EL is released. I'm hopeful there. It also says not to expect big changes, so I take it that true development is essentially done. If they can get the game to function without so many crashes and strange issues, it would be nice.

Personally, I had no problems to speak of with my old setup. It was a Core 2 Quad with an NVidia GTS250 running Vista 64 on a hard drive. When I upgraded it to an i3 with an NVidia GTX750 and Windows 7 on an SSD, I started seeing odd bugs in every single game so far. These are weird little bugs, such as double vision when looking at the system view with the cursor over a planet, the game freezing and out of focus, crash with exception notices, a dead fleet attacking my fleet over and over and not letting the game progress (several times) and some severe pauses when trying to click on the screen (very common). So far, I can get around these by saving and rebooting.

I'm wondering if the code is 32bit native and somewhat patched for 64bit. The Core2 can still run 32 bit programs, but the iCore has problems. I see this at work since industry is still using 32 bit software. We can run Win7 (32 or 64bit) on a Core2 with very few problems, but Win7 on an iCore doesn't run a lot of the industrial software. Just a thought.

You're not seeing any of the problems at all? From what I've seen, the Macs run an i7 (quad and ht) with Mavericks on an SSD. There's a Mac version of ES?

It's a steam play game that's ported to mac. Try to download it and see what happens. My main working machine right now is my macbook pro that I bought last year. I've had a couple of crashes in the past year, but a reload of a autosave solves it.
