Really fantastic game, but I have to ask - Who are the Faction with the ships that look like United Empire, but with a purple-crazed skin and yellow highlights, which are shown on the intro screen at times - I would love to play against them. They're ships look almost exactly like UE, but with some slight changes. I think they look better, except for the purple colour, but I guess that is a matter of personal taste. Are they the endless? By the way I really like the combat with battle cards. Real combat is about issueing orders and having your team carry them out - its not about micro-management and changing your mind every minute. A commander who changed their mind/strategy every minute would have a mutiny on their hands. Well done for realistic strategy. And the game looks fantastic. Regards.

They are called The Vaulters faction. Its very cool, its one of my favorites along with the Amoeba

Oh thanks very much for the explanation. Will have to get the dungeons founder pack. Despite my praise for this great game, I only like the UE type space ships, so am keen for any reskins I can find like Sheredeyn. I find the rest a bit too wierd looking. Space is a vacuum, so you don't need aerodynamic designs in space, like some of these other designs, unless they enter the atmosphere I suppose. You can have very un-aerodynamic shapes in space (squares, rectangles etc..) - that's the beauty of it. I like the UE designs the best. But I suppose that is a matter of opinion. This is the best space game since MOO in my opinion.

Yea the UE angular designs are awesome. They are my favorite as well. Although I could second the Amoeba because they really do look like acuatic lifeforms in space!

I always use Amoeba appearance for my custom races. They are easy to distinguish between other races.

Come on, the Automaton have easily distinguishable characteristics as well, with their spinning rings and blue orbs.
