I cant find anything in the wikia or on these forums as to what each of the faces in the diplomacy screen mean and nothing comes up in game when I mouse over them -which would really be a good improvement btw.



I know that the is cold war but I dont understand what the up and down arrows beside it means. I assume it means Im gaining favor with that faction, but I just destroyed a trespassing Hissio enemy scout and the icon when from a down arrow to an up arrow, telling me that theyre happy that I just destroyed their ship

Hissho appreciates powerful empire, so that might be the reason. If you hover the arrow, you'll have access to the different modifiers affecting the trend.

The arrows next to the diplomacy face represent the current trend of your relations with a given empire. If you click on the magnifying glass on the diplomacy screen and hover over your relationship status it will show all the factors that make up your status with that empire, show you the most recent trend in your relationship with that empire. For example, if you have an excellent long standing relationship with an empire, but you decide to reject one of their trade proposal, the trend will show a downward red arrow and say something like -2 due to rejected proposal or some thing to that effect.
