Here a few things I think would make the game better for big games.



-Make explored moons an obvious graphic so you dont have to click on each planet to see if they have been explored.

-Allow a default empire wide conversion for all planets at max stack with no current production.

-Make anything items que'd under an infinite conversion get made first, then back to the conversion.

-An expanded window allowing easier manipulation of fleets at a system. (Breaking and merging 50+ ships at a system is tedious)

-A number next to the system population that shows max population so you can easily see which systems could use settlers.

Some of what you ask is already available:



-explored moons have a subtle background graphic if they've been explored. I'm color blind and have no trouble seeing it, so you should too if you know what to look for.

-

-I think if you build something new, I agree it should go on top of any infinite conversion. However, I don't want it to be automatic in all cases. There are times I move something underneath an infinite conversion on purpose. If I'm a turn or two away from a key military advance, I might move my ships down so I can make a better version of them once I have my new tech. Also, sometimes I might need that extra bit of research to get a key tech a turn sooner, so I'll move a research conversion to the top of a queue.

-

-From the systems screen, it gives you just what you ask for (e.g., 17/19). That's the best place for it since it let's you see all systems at once.

-Moons: still on huge galaxies with many systems and planets, it can be tedious to find out where there are moons to explore. A small icon in the systems list could just indicate that. This could apply as well for anomalies pending, especially if the technology has become available, or special items that can now be unlocked (some of them require a mineral to be available, not so easy to follow)

-infinite conversion: agreed, as long as you can manually change it if you need an exception

-systems screen doesn't tell you if there are uncolonized planets. I think that's Wakrob was looking for.



good ideas anyway, these missing features are the reason I use automation in advanced games of this size. Just too much micromanagement. However the automation makes choices I don't like, building items I don't need like planetary defenses for systems way inside my empire.

Actually you can see empty planets on the map screen. What I want is to see Current/Max population on the main map. I realize the system screen has this stat but I dont want to then search around the map for that system name. I just want to see it right on the map for fastest move my excess population to needy systems.

Did you know there is a button on your Empire Management screen that will survey every unsurveyed moon? Look for it under System Actions. There is another button to build any anomaly reduction assuming you have the tech.

Oh... Magic buttons for moon and anomalies... Didn't know, that's a good one. Still only halfway as i don't necesarily have the same priorities on all the systems, but already better than nothing!

Another thing Ive noted as I played more....



Why cant the battles display multiple rows of ships? My huge monitor can handle seeing all the enemy ships in the little boxes in the corner. It has this silly little scroll bar.

I 100 percent agree with this. However, I might have used a different word than "silly," but then I might have gotten banned from the boards! smiley: smile
