Well, back in January this year after the Release of Disharmony, I found a way to play the Vaulters without owning Dungeons of the Endless. Everything worked, Tech Tree, Ship Design, ingame Vaulter-Graphics, Vaulter Loading screens and even the Race description in the diplomacy screen...



But Steph'nie from the Developer Team asked me not the reveal the How-To to the community.

That is certainly true, but unfortunately, I have no real interest in Dungeons of the Endless, and todays patch was supposed to unlock the faction to all owners of Disharmony.

Even assuming it's an XML unlock, it's not something I feel I should be doing when the patch should have unlocked them.

Ye its quite easy to do... But well, everyone doesnt look at the xml files and I hope it will be fixed soon for them !

They may have said it a long time ago, but i never read Vaulters would be unlocked for all today.

Ok, they say " Vaulters intro and victory or defeat screens are added to disharmony", but technicaly they didn't say vaulters for everyone.

which is sad, don't get me wrong, it's a bit of a dick move to make factions for people who buy the other games, or that precise bundle of ES.

Or maybe is it a bug with my edition, i don't know, i have the emperor edition with disharmony, no other Endless game, and i don't have them.



Amplitude wants to sell their other games, i understand, but they're all about the endless, i'm all about the space 4x



If you really want to play with them, why not ask what are their traits and do a similar custom faction?

It was indeed stated in the past that the Vaulters for ES would be a free download after DotE was released...that is factual. I am beginning to suspect, due to the lack of response from Amplitude, that they have changed their minds and haven't decided how best to rescind their earlier promise. This issue is easily resolvable if somebody from the Amplitude staff would simply announce their intentions one way or the other. I cannot for the life of me imagine why this has not been adequately addressed...unless Amplitude is going back on their previous statements. At this point I really don't care if they renege or not, just so long as I know what their actual intentions are...leaving the issue in limbo this long has damaged my trust as much as reneging on their word anyway.

I agree. Hopefully they merely overlooked their promise to add the Vaulters when DotE was released and do it SOON.

I'd rather pay for a meaningful extension or ES2 rather than buy a side product to get the goodies inside my favorite game. If you buy Sex and the City you'll get to see the last episode of Friends? Doesn't make sense to me.

Agreed. I responded to Steph's Steam forum post similarly, and haven't received any kind of answer. This was a silly marketing concept that has become a wedge issue, and Amp's silence on the matter after two rather clear promises were broken is disconcerting. As paying customers, we deserve a clear, precise answer for why this is being delayed (again) and when we can expect the promised content. Amp should keep in mind that consumers always vote with their wallets; even though I want to buy EL, I'm not giving them another dime until they can prove to me that they can keep their promises.

So far, the same result as Monthar here. Going to verify the game files and see if that helps.



EDIT: Nope that didn't help, and I now get the feeling the game is mocking me, as it's showing Vaulter starships on the main menu screen.

I'm starting to lose hope also. Now that DotE has been released why haven't they given the Vaulters to everyone as they said they would? I am thinking it is somehow tied up in the code with DotE and they cannot unlock Vaulters w/o unlocking DotE also?



Someone earlier said the Vaulters faction could be unlocked manually; at the very least Amplitude could provide the directions on how to that.

So if I understand correctly Vaulters will be unlocked for everyone, eventhough you don't have the Crystal Pack upgrade for Dungeons of the Endless?

I have both Disharmony and Dungeons of the Endless, but I don't want to fork out 3,99 (it's on sale now) to buy the upgrade if it'll become free for everyone.

It would be the only reason I'd buy the Crystal pack upgrade.

I reinstalled Endless Space again today because i thought the vaulters would have been released by now for us ES only people. Despite the promise stated a while back the vaulters have yet to reach us without the DotE game. I can understand delays, but the downright lack of communication by Amplitude is very disappointing and sets a bad example. It makes me reconsider buying any more games from them if they are gonna split their games up with these exclusive deals.

I looked into the xml and it looks like you can enable them yourself, but they'd be an incomplete faction. Perhaps some modders could fill in the blanks, but I can't be bothered.



I'm sure they'll honor their agreement eventually. For now, it seems that the interest in Vaulters is generating income. Once that interest wanes and people quit buying extra stuff just to get a glimpse of this "exclusive" faction, I'd bet they'll release it.



It's underhanded, but I'd do the same thing to be honest.

Now that DotE is officially released; when will we see Vaulters released for Endless Space?

We just got the new patch and I still don't have access to the Vaulters. I have the Emperor Edition plus Disharmony. I tried switching between Classic and Disharmony and couldn't find the Vaulters in either.
