I really like the sleek look of the Sophon ships. They remind me also a little of the Ori from stargate for some reason. Can't quite figure out why lol but they came to mind after looking at the ships.

That's probably because of a) the blueish colors of the ships and b) their round design. Reminded me of them, too. Otherwise they seem totally unrelated, because religious fanatics and curious scientists mix only, if the fanatics spend a lot of budget on the scientists. smiley: biggrin

Oooh, pretty pretty spaceships. I really love the Sophon ship designs. Major Kudos to the artists for doing such a nice job (don't get me wrong, all the ship designs so far wereawesome in some way, I just like these the most so far).

Looking at the way the thrusters are constructed they seem to function quite differently from conventional thrust engines. I like it ^_^

I think you might be right. They really look awesome though. I'm totally enjoying how all the races seem so different to each other smiley: biggrin. It's very hard to make totally unique and distinctive looking factions in games, but amplitude seems to be doing it amazingly well so far.

Is the united empire going to be the only human race? Also, will we be seeing any cyborg/robots races in the future? Or do the Cravers fill that role?

Hi all,

Of course, because we are doing reveals faction-by-faction, I won't come out and answer all your detailed questions! All I can say is: Looking at what people seem to ask for, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I should add that the ships I like the most are yet to come, as are two of my favorite faction backstories. Unfortunately, we can't announce them until all the bits are finished (Hero art, key art, models, etc.), so please be patient... Trust me, it's not like we're torturing you on purpose smiley: smile

I think that pretty soon we'll be seeing more races. Probably gelatinous blobs or something.

I love their story. It has never been done in any other game.

But I have 1 question : what about differences between Horatios ? As they all are breed from the Horatio DNA, what conscience do they really reach ? I mean, can a horatio hero have some independant mind or all they all bind to the great Horatio ? Moreover it's said that they are all created visually appealing for Horatio. Do they all really look the same or close ?

Nice idea! I'm kind of confused about the Cravers though. These guys look much more like machines than organic, how could a machine be "born" and start as a larvae? I always imagined they build new members and put a processor/cybernetic brain in their heads and there you go, a new craver comes to life.

I think its more of a exoskeleton-thing that they use. To see a un-exoskeletoned carver would be nice though. smiley: smile

If they are hivebased as implied then seeing one isnt really gonna spoil much. The description by slowhands is also a spoiler then if thats that.

For the advanced stage of development the game is in, we know surprisingly little about the races, actually about most of the game's features. I think it's time to change your dev-summoning spell to a "bind will" one smiley: smile

It certainly wouldn't hurt for some more specific info to be released. The progress bar is tantilisingly close to the beta mark and we're really only doing a lot of speculation. It's nice in the sence that we are all getting to know one anothers tastes and hopes for the game to come though smiley: smile
