With not having played very much of this type of game, I am having a hard job getting my head around it, and the tutorial is not helping. If anyone knows where I can find a quick guide for idiots, let me know.

I am very impressed myself. I literately laughed my ass off already in the new game menu just reading the different difficulty deceptions!



My game got downloaded in a couple of minutes due to my fast Internet. No problem what so ever starting it nor downloading it.



Playing on the "Fantastic" graphics on a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The graphics and all tabs really are fantastic. And the tutorial is very useful and good at explaining.

First impressions:

Just bought the game, running it on an OLD vista machine. no config problems, it runs smooth.



Also I agree with everything Meridos42 said in items 1-5. I like the card idea. though i find the timer was a bit quick. Perhaps the ability (similar to sots, to change the length of the turns would be a good idea).



I have 2 bits of comment though:



1st

I would suggest an option to turn off the background stars (the stars that you can't colonize). I am old, and have bad eyes, and at times it is HARD to tell which is a background star and which is not. I know others will disagree, but I have poor eyesight, and doing this will make the game easier for others like me with color blindess/ poor eyesight etc.



2nd,

this is a bit harder to explain. once you researched something and are about to construct it, you can hover your mouse over the item and get a description of what you are building for ex: +2 food etc.

I suggest being able to do that on the research screen, because i have to be honest. Without a wiki I am not sure what all the items do. I know that some are obvious like the ability to colonize tundra worlds, but others not so obvious like the difference in the type of slugs (in the weapon branch). lol.

I too am very impressed. Bought the emperor version and just had great fun just reading the tutorials

Bought the "emperor" version.Running the game on macbookpro 17" using bootcamp. Plays like a dream, no issues at the moment. Love the music. Nice tutorial. Crisp gfx. Love the UI. Will edit this when i have more to say.
