Well hopefully! In a giant galaxy with 8 people a game should take weeks to complete. At least i hope so.

I do agree with Ataeus. I've played HOMM I-III with a dial-up connection back in the day and I never had a problem waiting for my turn to start. You can always burn your time at the same time in multiple ways for exp: read, eat, plan, work, desktop etc. I can think of hundred ways.

Save game is your friend. And playing with people that you know won't drop when they shouldn't (for instance play with people and choose a time before play "Ok we'll play for 2 hours. Let the rush begin !")

And about Frozen Synapse : it's a game between two players and fast in the execution. So it's good. For a 8 multiplayer game... I'm not sure it's the best implementation.

I think somebody before said about the Frozen Synapse system, and i have to admit it is a great system for something like a 4x game. If you cannot play at the same gaming hours then you can just log on and take your turn and then leave. The next day the other player may have some time to take their turn and then once everybody has done there turn then the results happen for everybody the next time they log back on and can take their next turn.

In regards to combat i guess with the combat system currently in place. You could have it where one person can choose their cards and then log off. when the next player logs on and sees the battle. they can pick their cards and then the battle will happen.

Of course a system like this would probably need to be planned from the beginning. I am not sure how much work programming multiplayer systems is at all.

Sounds a little bit like the multiplayer of Civilization 5. Every players are doing their stuff at the same time and when the last one finished his turn, the next turn will start.

Yes. That's it.

Well feel free to choose a gamemode that completes the game faster. i guess there will be optional timed turns or something like that.

Hello everyone!

First, I want to say that i didn't find any similar thread so I create one

I just wan't to talk about multiplayer parties. I don't know how it will work but, if i'm right, so we'll have to wait between our turns that all other players have finished their turns to play?

So, "bewteen turns phases" will be sooooooooooooooo long, depending on the number of player...

I'm around 100 turns and it takes me sometimes 10 minutes to do all I have to do in each star system...

So can someone explain me how it'll work and if I'm right?

Evreyone plays at the same time. You can't play faster than that smiley: stickouttongue

Maybe they'll add some clock for each turn.

EDIt: one thing people need to know : any 4X game played in multi will be long. You can't just play a whole game in 20 minutes.

All those things are done while their done. If you arrive first then another one, it will start a battle. If two colonize ships arrive the first one will get the planet.

It's like real time but limited by turns. So you'll have to watch your right, where will appear notifications of battles you wouldn't be aware of.
