The main menu is fine but there is room for improvement in my opinion. All I am really saying is I could like it more, I'm not sure about what specifics could make me like it more but I know I could.

I think the buttons could use some polish, too.

They look somewhat like placeholders, in my opinion.

I like the main menu as it is. It's easy to use, you have everything you need and that's just fine and dandy. And I would prefer if the backgrounds remained the same aswell. The more you have on there the worse it will get, because it won't reflect the game. It's Endless Space, a place full of hidden possibilities. The less flashy stuff the better, in my opinion.



We can still use our imagination can't we? Or don't we have that anymore..

I don't think that the boxes are a problem but it's a bit irritating to have the active elements jump around so much (when switching to options, load game, ... or back)



Maybe leave a bit of transparency for the hover color though.





About the background - I know that it's just an artistic approach but still the cloud movement is impossible:

It should be slower than the planets rotation (if you want to keep it simple and not taking the coriolis forces into account)



In addition most moons will revolve around a planet in the same direction as the planet rotates around its own axis unless those are just asteroids that have been caught later on by the planets gravity and not a destroyed moon.

I like it to, but I think that something like holographic would be good to add. Not much but, a little bit.



As for music in main menu is really great smiley: smile. It style caught my attention so don't change it smiley: biggrin

I noticed something strange with the main menu.

I run the game at the highest settings available at 1920 x 1080 and the game runs perfectly smooth, not a single issue, apart from the main menu screen is very laggy!

As I say everything in the game runs fine from the basic galaxy overview, zooming into to the planets and manual battle control etc. But strangely the menu is very, very laggy for me... moving the cursor around is difficult as it seems to leap an inch every frame.



Very weird as all of the in-game menus are fine.
