vcode all the way. Raptor reminds me too much of a terminator drone gone through a few development cycles :/ That or it got in the wrong end of the cylon gene pool

To be honest I voted for Raptor because it reminds me more of the Geth. Not sure if you want that tie in, but vcode is also very similar to a Geth as well.

Thanks everybody for your votes! Being the winner of the first competition on the forums (as opposed to the G2G ones) feels great! If the devs consider this avatar good enough to add it to the avatars list it would be an honor for me if you like it and use it. I like the idea of your icon, text/logos are very nice. It just seems that at the size the avatar is limited too, the text is a a little hard to read. That's the main reason I've voted for vcode's submission, in that it's more 'zoomed in' than Raptor's.

I voted for Raptors since he made it from scratch by himself, my second vote would have been for VieuxChat as I like stuff made from scratch.

There's a genuine problem when trying to fit text into small spaces. An 80x80 image doesn't lend itself well to text at all, even at 8 point font sizes. When designing text for small spaces like that it's important to remember to keep it simple. The star background in your image is what really threw me off to be honest. Maybe a more abstract space background would have done better. Abstracting things like the backgrounds also allows for easier color variants of the same image as well.

I don't have it in a higher resolution -__- Anyway my skills are just no match to those that know how to hold a pen. All I can do is use GIMP to crop/filter.

This was tough... I liked Vieux's because it seems like it would be a good trend of Faction affiliation, but Vcode's looks really cool, as does Raptors. Can, can we have them all?

Carefully looking at both Vcode and Raptor their avatars i realy like Vcode his artwork. I can't say that of Raptor is bad it also was appealing but that of Vcode was just more appealing to me i just can't say why.
