is there any way to rotate the map screen of the whole galaxy, its just little annoying how so far it seems to be stuck in one view and that i can flip it or move it or rotate it at all even thought its made in 3d view, thought maybe i was missing something ?

I haven't had a problem with the map display--it looks really gorgeous as is. A "hold right-click (or middle click) to rotate" feature might be cool if it's actually possible to implement.



Is the map really 3d, though? the systems themselves are on a 2d plane like in MOO2, as opposed to the 3d map from Sword of the Stars.

Oh man, since we are talking about 3d... What if when we zoom in on a star(not actually clicking on it) it shows the planets orbiting it!
