[challenge] sophon - try to win in 500 turns or less

The population of the starting colony always decreases by 1, no matter what you do, at the end of the first turn. Colonising, altering tax rate, whatever ~ pop -1.



This doesn't occur in 'normal' Impossible games, which means either the save is bugged or you've altered it somehow.







Either way ~ challenge is fixed / bugged. Given the ease with which you can currently dupe population, on a long 500 turn game ~ no way of verifying if it's a legit competition either.

system seed would tell me. never edited, completely default

Check it yourself. End the turn ~ no matter your actions, pop drops by 1. Either 3 > 2 or 4 > 3.



Again, this doesn't happen on a usual impossible / 8 players / pirates = impossible. I've tested it with 3 game starts now.







So ~ your save is broken. I refuse to play something that is fishy / plays bugged... esp. if the author refuses to acknowledge it. Smells like a setup.

Stays at a constant +1 for me.

I got the -1 pop at the end of turn too. I tested a few new games and it happens to me on all slow speed games regardless of map size or difficulty.

i think you are supposed to start slow mode with 2 pop but it glitches and shows 3 till the turn updates



Edit: played regardless of the pop thing, only got to turn 75 so far but going pretty well.



Edit 2: 2 of the AIs bugged out on me at about turn 100 and started gaining 20k score a turn due to the AI production bug, tried to keep going but the game crashed everytime by about 120. Oh well, I'll try another go after the bug is fixed.
