I might be the only one thinking this way, but I think the comments associated with the difficulty settings need to be stripped out in the current form. The historical situations referenced don't seem to have a place in a space 4x, the actual comments are highly speculative and, ultimately, they don't give any actual explanation of the difficulty setting. I appreciate the flair, but I think it's misplaced completely here. Leaving it blank would be more preferable to me but otherwise you might want to state, in simple terms, how difficult those levels are or what it's affecting. Does it change the AI's build/research time, aggressiveness, stubbornness to diplomacy? Is the top difficulty twice as difficult as the next one down, or is it a smooth scale?

Additionally, since it's in the same area, how about adjusting the game speed comments or values? It seems to me that the highest one, from the comments, is the normal speed but you'd expect the normal one to be the middle one... wouldn't you? I don't recall if these are actually there or not but, if not, maybe add in a numerical representation of how much faster and slower these choices are? Is slow 50% of normal and fast 150% or 200%? Might be nice to have that listed, though it's not a necessity.
