is that a known issue? because most of the time the system AI doesn't choose the accordingly selected food/industry etc. improvements . and also.. when it does, what determines which category of improvement follows food for instance when i keep the sytem AI on food, but run out of food improvements? industry? right now i'm just a bit puzzled by the randomness. i really actually like that feature, i think it takes away a lot of the chores of micromanagement. especially in the late game. but of course, it should work properly.. it would be pretty helpful to understand how the mechanics work. i know i can select it manually and all.. but still.. this is of interest to me.

ahhh, so i spent some time with it and it actually seems to work. but it's just a bit confusing. i think if there are for instance no food improvements available anymore, it'll continue with the improvement that is the closest related to it.
