So I'm about 130 turns into my game and have collected several systems. I've been having a problem moving to one system in particular --- I already own the system but sometimes as soon as I move my fleet away I can't move them or any other fleet back to this system... very annoying watching the AI easily invade the undefended system while my fleets sit and watch from a neighbouring system, unable to move to the invaded system. Anybody else have this problem? Is there an easy explanation for this or is it a bug?

It does happen every so often mate, I've had to end a few games as a result. I am not sure what causes it but some planets just refuse to accept a move order. Sometimes it is a result of a different races influence moving over it and you aren't at war and you do not have open borders with them. But as you say, you own it, that shouldn't be affected as a result.

There may be, this stumped me for a long time...



is there another race near you that you either are in cold war or peace with and don't have permission to move through their territory? If a sphere of influence from this third races planet infringes the string between two planets, you can't cross it because you'd be crossing the third races territory, annoying, I know..

There are also still some movement bugs. I've experienced several times that I couldn't send a fleet to a certain system, though in fact I often just had to do something different first or make sure to really hit the perfect middle of the system when issuing the order.



If that's not it, the other posts pretty much include all other possible problems already.

99% of the time this is because another race has extended its region of influence to the system. This can cut you off, if you are in cold war with the race. If you are not in another race's region of influence, it may be a bug. Then please zip/attach a save game so we can see. Please see the resources in my sig for other popular bugs, questions and suggestions.

I experienced this problem. By going to war I was able to move into the systems which I was unable to enter before.



Suggestion: Proper error message.



The AI could move ships into my systems (during cold war). But thinking on it, I think that was because my systems were still outposts... Cool mechanics allowing border wars even though it takes some practice to understand smiley: smile.
