This just happened with me as well. I got on today and noticed that the ships will only move if I hit the end turn button even though they have full movement points. The problem is the ships will not always remember their movement orders when I press the end turn button. So I end up with multiple fleets stuck in their star systems. Any help would be much appreciated.

Edit: I had alt-tabbed out of the game to make this comment and when I had finished posting and returned to the game the ships suddenly worked as they had been last week. I don't know what the problem was or how it was fixed, but everything seems fine now. Good luck to any with this problem.

There are several different factors here.

1. The steam interface (shift-tab) confuses the game into thinking the shift key is still held down. Please click the shift key several times when this happens, to see if that clears it.

2. Your fleets and enemy fleets can be set to "block", using the icon which looks like a globe and a shield next to it. If an enemy ship is in the system and set to "block", you cannot leave. You must attack. Now that I think about it, this may be a bug, because scouts have no attack or may not choose to attack. Anyway this may be one reason.

3. All of your fleets perform their queued moves when you hit "end turn". This is discussed in the FAQ. You do not lose turns or movement points because of this. There is one special case where you should pay attention, but you still do not lose anything. If you have a ship arriving at a system this turn, which you then want to do something else with, you are on your own to notice this and take action. For example, if a colony ship (move 4) is two dots away from its destination when you hit end turn, it will move to the system and sit there. If you did not notice this, you may view this as a loss of one turn. You could have colonized at the end of the previous turn. I agree the game could make this easier to notice. But especially in the early game, it is not that hard to check yourself to see if colony ships or scouts are about to arrive.

If it is not any of these three things, please zip and attach a save game to a post, so we can see the exact behavior.
