[Suggestion] Workers

I really love the concept of heroes, assigned to fleets/systems in order to boost these. But:

1) they're quite limited in number (max 6?)

2) most probably because they're quite powerful



Why not introduce the concept of specialized workers, people that could be freely hired (for a defined number of turns, or a cheaper upkeep), or "produced" from tech, such as architects, doctors, army men, engineers, politicians, pilots,...? Those characters would be assigned to a single defined system (or a single planet, or a fleet if able), they would be less powerfull than heroes (their upkeep would be much cheaper), and would give (smaller) bonuses as well. They could also be traded between races...



I love the idea of workers to manage.

And interesting idea, and I see where you're coming from, but I don't know. That just seems like it could explode and make the system way to complex for most people. I know I'm perfectly fine as it is with six Heroes, and even then I forget to look at systems and move them around to where they would be more useful. Adding in a secondary level of people would be too much of a hassle.



Plus, the AI could probably exploit them a lot more efficiently than human players could, causing you to run into these specialized workers on every system or in every fleet. I suppose some may like the challenge, but I think the current system of just six Heroes is enough.

I think that these workers are like the planet exploration. They have an upkeed and they improve one aspect of the planet/system.

A second improvement in each system would be a bit overpowerd i think.

In this case it hink the workers should be a weak improvement and the exploration should be nerfed a bit. Then their would

be space for workers and soldiers.
