Version disparity between Mac and PC versions?

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere. I tried searching "mac" but it's too short for the search feature.

I bought Civ V on Steam when it was first released, played it in Bootcamp, and was graciously given the ability to install the Mac version once Aspyr had finished porting it to Mac OS. Since the Mac version has been released, though, the two development companies (Firaxis and Aspyr) have not managed to consistently keep the two releases at the same version number. Whenever patches or new content are released, they are released on the Windows version long before they can be ported to the Mac version. Because of this, it's often impossible for me to play multiplayer against my friends using PCs. Do you know if this will be the case when the Mac version of Endless Space is released? Also - again, I apologise if this is answered elsewhere - are you doing the Mac version in-house or getting a company like Aspyr to do the port?

The way I used to do it: keep a Mac for work, Keep a PC for gaming.

I still don't, and never will understand people who use a Mac. Especially if you want something to play games on, it just boggles my mind. I guess maybe if you are forced to use a Mac for work and don't want to have to pay for a PC it would be understandable.

Having used Windows for my first ~15 years of computing, I personally don't understand how people can still stand to use Windows. But neither this point nor your own serve to address my initial question.

What was the point of your response to this thread? Go game on your Windows machine and leave Mac gamers to game on theirs, please. Some of us do more than play games on our computers.

Please, don't start a Mac hate argument.

I can confirm that Amplitude Studios will work on the Mac version.

Thanks Steph'nie!

Can you comment at all on whether the two versions will stay in sync with each other, or does that remain to be seen?

Well, that would be nice indeed, but we really don't know yet as it is too early to tell. smiley: smile
