Noob question - choosing "cards" in manual battles

Hi all,

Last night I had my 1st battle with some pirates which I lost. I picked manual mode and before I even had time to see what choices I had (I think I saw a "Sabotage" card), the games didn't wait for my input and went to the next stage, so on, until the battle ends.

Is this normal or did I miss something?

Thanks!

It is timed, so you must know your options before you go in. In the universe (main) view, select a fleet. On the lower left (around 7 pm on a clock dial) there is a button called "Battle Actions". Use this to read the cards and figure out what you want to pick. Personally, I don't like a timed sequence in my turn based, single player game. Unfortunately that is not what the developers have implemented! The timed feature is to keep multiplayer games lively.

davea is right, it's best to pre-plan your card usages before battles. Soon, however, you will know which ones are best instinctively, and then you can adjust to what you think others will use (to cancel their cards).

And if you research certain tech's off to the right side of the tree you can even get some extra abilities.

And heroes can get some when they level up.

Anyway the number of available cards is still low, so a few battles will let you learn them.

Is that cereal box code for saying more cards are planned in the future? *le gasp*

Cereal box code ?

Gné ?

I don't know what's planned for the future. What I meant was that even with cards from heroes and techs, it's a low number of cards to remember. So not really a big deal, past the first game.

Only joking, and I was making a silly comment about those old kids shows that had the cereal box decoders in them... secret messages and whatnot. It's that time of night here, nearly 4 AM. smiley: stickouttongue

Ok ^___^ It's just that I thought my words were taken as Dev's words. Which they are not. It's just my thoughts as a gamer.
