First and foremost: congratulations!

I have played ES for a solid two weeks and I have found it very fun and entertaining. Even in it's alpha state it's already more polished than the bast majority of finished independent games out there.

Haven't really enjoyed so much a low-budget game since minecraft.

For fans of MOO (1 & 2) this game is a blessing. I just wished the combat was also turn-based and more strategic, but... oh, well, I supose it would be too expensive to do.

Of course there are some little things that I would have done different (no travel "outside the highways" for example, it does give a great strategic value to some systems), but that's true in every game I have ever played.

Anyway, good job guys!

looking forward to future releases of ES and -I hope- other games equally fantastic!

Hope the games sells as well as it deserves, I will spread the word to friends and collegues.

Congratulations again!

I totally agree with you about the game being better the most commercial games even though it's still an alpha however what in the world is MOO????

MOO: Master of Orion. Older 4X game set in space, definitely still worth checking out.

I really like the combat how it is, I don't think I would want to see it completely changed.

But maybe your idea isn't bad, I don't know, it's incredibly vague.

The combat right now is epic.

Master of Orion, ok I have heard of that but never got around to playing it. For me older games with the space opera genre consisted mostly of Descent Freespace 1 & 2; going further back it would have been Terminal Velocity (shareware, never had money when I was in school) on my 486 lol.

Regarding MOO (milkshake) maybe i'll pick it up on Steam if it ever gets a release on it.

MOO2 is probably the better game to play to be fair. Much more in depth and yet at the same time easier to play. Another game that you might like, though not space based, Masters of Magic. By the same people that made MOO and has the same 4X gameplay.

I agree with you, the reason is most likely because commercial games often are just produced and thrown out onto the market, whereas ES really is developed with deep consideration for what the consumer/player/space fanatical fan wants the final game to look like! smiley: smile
