You need to register the game on Steam (if purchased on another platform) and then run "Offline Mode" that requires you to connect at least once, and then play offline. However you won't be able to get any update that way, nor play the multiplayer.

Can I get the game without any DRM? Like on gog.com?

I'd gladly buy it, but not from any Steam like service that requires you to install custom clients / validate over the internet.

Please say it's possible / direct me to a shop that will sell it to me.

Not possible due to the way the game is being published - any version you buy will be tied to Steam. Even if you managed to seperate the two, you'd have nowhere to get patches for the game as they are deployed over steam.

It not much different to registering a game using a code word from the manual for me the way it used to be. And I love the way I don't need disks anymore to run my games using Steam. That is the biggest advantage of Steam.

I saw it sold by Amazon using 'Your Games Library' but I suppose it's another DRM-style download manager.

I'd be deligted to download just installation EXE file that can be installed offline.
