Trade notification are difficult to figure out when first encountered... and even more confusing later. Note the dialog in the top half of the image below. The dialog says who is involved and what is involved, with great tool-tip support. But in terms of who is offering what to whom the only clues are "YOU" and "HISSO". What about "YOU", or more speciffically "ME"? Are these items that I'll be getting from Hissho, or are these items I'm going to be giving? It took a bit of study the first time the dialog came up, but soon enough I figured out that "YOU" means "YOU Offer" or "YOU will give". Great. So stuff I own and will give is on the left under "YOU", and stuff they own and will give is on the right under "HISSHO". Or so I thought.

Later I get the dialog that's shown in the second half of the image below. I'm told the deal is being broken, but the deal displayed doesn't look anything like the deal I agreed to. I understand the perhaps intended aspect of consistency, the YOU column now shows the stuff I was given, and am therefore now giving back. But though perhaps consistent, it is completely non-intuitive. If a deal is being broken, I want to see what that deal is (or was) in the same way as it was presented. The meaning of "YOU" has now been changed from "YOU offer" to "YOU will no longer receive". Very, very confusing.

Compound that with the fact that previously (still? haven't looked) that dust per turn deal item wasn't being calculated properly (essentially it didn't matter which side it was on, you--the player--were paying that amount to the other empire. And if you canceled? That amount was deducted from your income a second time).

Another relatively new player here and I also got confused by this a bit.
