Situation: AI#1 is attacking (invading) a system owned by AI#2. Player moves fleet to attacked system and destroys fleet of AI#1. Player then retreats fleet from AI#2's territory. For preventing the system of AI#2 from getting lost to AI#1, player should gain a dedicated diplmatic bonus. This could be noticed as "+ XX for your recent help in defending our colonies".

I agree, something like this would be nice. Although, I think it would be something best used to really encourage alliances. It would be weird if a faction I'm only at peace with (maybe open borders, too) just walked in, saved my system, and left, when I maybe was about to save the day with one of my own fleets. I don't think I'd be grateful, as much as wondering just what the other player is doing. I'd imagine the AI should feel the same way.

If I was in an alliance with that person, though, it would make more sense for them to help me, as chances are we're both at war with the person who was invading me.

I also miss the possibility to ask others for help (Something like: "please attack Fleet at XY"). AIs could have this function, too.

Also a "PING" function, to show Systems etc. to other Players/AIs.

I.e.: Look-Ping (to call someones attention, show where you want to colonize etc.), Attack-Ping (Allies or Factions who want some diplomacy points attack this system [chooseoption:invade/attackfleet/blocade], Defense-Ping (Need help from another fleet at this System, Defense against Pirates etc.)

Maybe the other player is just desperately trying to win your loyalty for going to cooperation agreement or alliance smiley: smile

True, but unless he's following up with chat messages and some other reason to show it's legit, I'd still be cautious. That's just my play style, though. I trust no one in games. :P
