The tips that you get when mousing over FIDS in the planet screen are odd.



Science is described as +3 from population, from 2 people :





These seem to show the correct total value, but not the correct breakdown.



What I think looks like is happening is that the mouseover just adds the bonuses once, not per population, then completes up to the correct amount with the catch-all "from population".

Or maybe it adds all the lower +/- values, multiplies by population-1, then shows that as the "from population".



Either way, it looks like a bug to me - the "+3 from population" is not telling you anything, and is pretty anti-intuitive with 2 pop.



Possible simple version could look this :
