Alright, so I know it's too late in development for this to be implemented for release, I'm not stupid, and I don't think that coders are physical gods like some people do, but for the first patch or something, I'm suggesting the following:

A button when creating a single player game to force the AI to use all of its movement points before you are allowed to take your turn, basically making the game turn based in the sense of GC2 or CIV, instead of the current system. The reason for this is, some of us find it quite irritating that we either have to wait ~2 extra minutes for the AI to do its thing during our own turns, or risk the AI blindsiding us while we move. With this, you could use the existing coding framework for turns, but once the AI has "decided" what it's going to do, it does it then all of its ships have their movement ability removed so they can't change position during your turn, effectively simulating "true" turn based movement.

I feel this is a fair compromise, and it would obviously be disabled for multiplayer. It would greatly enhance my (and other's) enjoyment of the game.

EDIT: Sorry, wrong Subforum, if a moderator could move this to design proposals, I'd be grateful.
