Hi. I'm sort of a newbie to these forums, but I've had this idea in my head for a while. I'm not sure if this had been said before but...

I think that Cravers should be allowed to be at peace with other races. Not right away, but eventually.

I know that their entire deal is that they have to keep eating to feed their hive, and that nothing matters except feeding their hive. That's fine, but in game as a craver you can still hire Pilgrim and other heroes. This is a gaping hole in the lore I think.

What I'm trying to say is that while I don't think that Cravers should have the exact same diplomacy setting as other races, I think that if you do certain things, like begin to win a lot of battles against them, then their approval of you would go up because now your their "Worthy Opponent". Eventually, you should get a option to request peace with them, so that you could become allies and attack the other races.

I mean, if the Cravers can still build ships to travel in space and hire Horatio heroes, I think that they should be able to have some sort of diplomatic option.

Well to rebalance the game like that would take a lot of effort, also the heroes do somewhat fit into the lore if you read the entire thing. If you haven't done that yet you should do so: /#/endless-space/forum/29-archives/thread/13132-the-universe

I would actually kind of agree to just make it harder for them to achieve peace, but as said I don't think that will or should be changed.

Eh, I don't think so. Even if it was hard for them to do so, they have no reason to want peace. Like you said, their whole hive mentality is to feed themselves. Peace would cut off huge section of space, where they can't go to start devouring.

I've always likened them to something akin to the Borg, in Star Trek, or maybe even the Reapers from Mass Effect. There's no negotiation, no peace. You either fight them off or they will annihilate you (or assimilate, in the Borg's case, but I don't think the Cravers can do that). They don't care about politics or diplomacy--all they know is that you're in their way to their next meal.

I'm with FinalStrigon. Started playing Cravers yesterday and I like the attitude of being hostile against everybody for at least one species. It fits to the story and is fun to play. If you want to be nice and diplomatic, don't play them.

Thirded. It's good to have a faction that's so undiplomatic that it forces other factions to become diplomatic in order to survive. Let's everyone else cuddle together. smiley: wink
