Declaring Peace shares Influence rings

There is currently an issue where ships can enter another players influence rings if they have not discovered the system that is the source of the ring. In cold war this makes some sense and is acceptable(to me) to not change. However I would like to see a sharing of information when peace is declared, specifically of influence rings which would prevent the 'friendly' ships from entering your space.

That's what Open Borders is for.

Declaring Peace is basically saying: "You know what, you're all right. But good fences make good neighbors, so please stay off of my property."

Open Borders is saying: "You know, man, you're still all right. Feel free to come on over anytime."

I think what he's saying is that declaring peace with someone should reveal their influence rings and thereby prevent your ships from entering their territory.

Currently, if you have not explored the source planet of an influence ring, it doesn't affect you. This presents a situation where border systems can be occuppied by friendly ships with whom you do not have an open borders treaty...

This is exactly what I meant.

Oops...In that case, I'm sorry. I misunderstood you. So you mean, when peace is declared, you get to see where all of their systems are. Much like how, if you make an alliance with someone, you can see all that they have discovered/can see up to that point, correct?

Hmm...I'm not sure. It would be nice, in terms of avoiding getting a scout ship trapped, but at the same time, it could really hamper the exploration aspect of the game. I kind of like sending my ships around to every system to see what's out there. If they get trapped, I do what I can to get Peace/Open Borders to free them. Or, they get destroyed, and I know which race I'm going to annihilate first. I guess I'm neutral on this one.

I think revealing just the influence without divulging the specific system information would be a fine compromise.
