It would be really nice to change the default planet for new population since the current default of last planet colonized rarely gives you optimal FIDS. You would probablly need a priority system i.e. 1st planet for pop, 2nd planet (when first is full, 3rd planet (when second is full) etc). This would really help with "turn hygeine" i.e. having to go through all you systems each turn to make sure they are set correctly.

It would be nice to see a "set system focus" that would change the population arrangement to give you the best selcted FIDS, i.e. i set focus to food it arranges the population to give me the best + food but it doesn't change my build queue,

Strongly agree on the problem, disagree on the solution. Related bug thread here:

It bothers me quite a lot when I am concentrating on system pop growth in the early game. I have one tier 1 planet and one tier 2-3 planet. I want all the new pop to go onto the tier 1, but very often the game puts it on the tier 2. For example, on a tundra or arctic instead of on the terran. I can't use the governors, because their choices about what to build rarely match with mine; if you have a governor turned on, it changes your queue without informing you.

I would prefer the game to get this decision right on its own, rather than forcing me to set a default planet. A better default would be, always put the pop on the highest tier planet. If it has a choice only between arid and tundra (both tier 2), it probably doesn't matter much.

The population always comes onto the most recently populated planet. I am not sure which planet it chooses if you were to say move all your pop onto a newly colonized planet and leave multiple target planets with open slots. Setting defaults is one way and your right not the most preferred. You could solve it easiest by adding a new population alert. And of course as you mention in the other thread you could have an ai handle a set system focus which would auto adjust poopulation on planets to max a certain smiley: fids you could build it into the current ai govenor the only problem there would be you might not want the govenor managing your build queue and actually if it was an all or nother ai govenor that handle focus and build queue without seperating the 2 as bad as the current govenor is at the build queue you would leave it turned off bringing you right back to the original problem.

Oh and dave i made a duplicate post i see your a mod if you could delete this one for me i would appreciate it http://forums.amplitude-studios.com/showthread.php?8231-Ability-to-add-Moon-Explore-Exploitation-before-planet-is-colonized
