The problem: Many aspects of the game are obscure, and often mislead the player into taking the wrong decisions.



Example, xenotourism gives 1 dust per population and costs -3 dust. 99% of people will conclude that as long as you have 4+ people in a system then xenotourism makes a profit... But this is VERY wrong as it depends on the tax. If your tax is at 10%, the xeno upgrade on a 4 population system only gives you 0.8 dust. (4 * 0.2x)



Solution / suggestion : People are requesting a change to the tax formula which i think is very wrong because it reduces some of the depth from the game. The solution i suggest is to add a tooltip on buildings, as you hover them they should show you how much benefit you gain from making the building. In our example the player will see that xeno only gives 0.8 dust for a -3 cost and can make the right decision of not making the building. Later on as he increases tax, he will hover over the building and realize that it is now worth making the upgrade. This will also speed up multiplayer since people will not have to make complex math every time they want to decide if a constructing building is worth it.

Then the tech descriptions need to be changed to show their true effect for the system building it. So many structures are not worth it, worse the AI builds them anyway.

Which ones are wrong? I can only think of the moon improvements, but those are known and being fixed.
