I'm not sure what you mean by maitenance costs (total upkeep, or how much it would cost to retrofit?), but you can see which fleets can be upgraded.



Go into the fleet menu and select a fleet that you have. It should show you what ships you have in that fleet. Simply compare those with the designs you have on the top right of that screen, and you'll be able to see easily which ones need upgrading. For example, if Alpha Fleet is comprised of Destroyer 2's and Cruisers, but in my designs I see Destroyer 3 and Cruiser 3, I know the fleet is outdated.



Alternatively, simply clicking on the fleet should open the retrofit button, if you are using outdated ships, automatically telling you this as well as the price to upgrade. Although this only pops up in a system you control, so it isn't as useful if you're checking to see if you're main battle fleet that is off winning wars needs some upgrades.

it would be nice to filter for not yet retrofitted ships , I think that's what he meant . also the sorting behaviour is kinda funny, after the first click on retrofit the sorted list gets unsorted ... :/

Yes, those changes should be made, specially the one that refers to maintenance.

I mean a little flag next to the fleet to indicate it contains obsolete ships (as in last gen's super slaughter machine)



I know I can click on any fleet and be presented an upgrade cost provided it is in a home port but I would prefer indicators to say "you can upgrade this fleet". It gets tiresome when your 100+ turns into the game and your fleets scroll :P
