Add extra battle 'scenarios'

After a while I get a bit bored of the same old battle format of the attacker jumping in at the SAME PLACE every time, why cant the attack from the front or why cant they have battles in different positions in the system. I would love to see the fleets blasting eachother apart in a asteroid field, or my opponents dreadnought plummeting down onto a planet or even melting up in another ship's shields (for smaller classes). Another thing I would like to see is ships not blowing up ENTIRELY! If a dreadnought is 'destroyed' who says a breach wasn't in the hull and the crew were sucked out, or the power core meltdown split the ship in half with a cataclysmic explosion (anybody who has played Halo Reach campaign will understand). These things can really ruin some aspect of the game, especially when the AI stacks up fleets in a single system which have less than a third my CP value, meaning I spend around half an hour clicking the auto battle button and waiting for my single fleet to burn through around 40-60 enemy fleets.



Another good thing would be to stop the AI stacking all these fleets there in the first place.



OK, rant over, tell me if I'm right or if I'm just asking for a load of rubbish (please).

Verity in looks is a good idea, but once the actual game mechanics and balancing is completed.



And as for the AI not stacking its fleets, I feel that it comes from the underlying problem of fleets not being able to engage more then 1 fleet a turn.



I have always felt a ships should be able to attack the amount of times that its engine would allow, thus costing moment points. (possible like 2 per attack, or even increasing in cost per attack to prevent a large amount of them.)

Yeah, Its a good idea and something like that would probably solve the problem. But I still think that it should be changed because the battles are, well I find they are, one of the best features, and it seems a bit of a shame to 'ruin' them with the repetitiveness, especially when the battles are huge and exciting

Something else to spice up the game is battles that aren't in a system. I would love to see 2 fleets passing eachother by on cosmic strings or maybe even wormholes. Heck, you could even fight in the warp drive place

I always thought it was very weird how, no matter where the battle takes place, always the same destroyed ship is floating around in the background. I second this idea and I think it would be one of the many "flavor" ideas that some people usually disregard because it doesn't "add anything to the gameplay", but IMO making the game look pretty is just as important as making it play good.

I agree, especially with the repetitiveness, its a big downer on the game. The graphics are good already but I agree with you.
