Repair Upgrade System level

I think there should be system level upgrade that increase ship passive repair. Because it is so low, people will often use pointless fights as a chance to heal using engineering cards.



It could be unlocked along with ship level upgrades. You can say when you start the game you have small repair station/dry dock gives 10% HP back per turn.



You unlock bigger and better with each new class of ship. You can think of it like this, you need bigger dry docks to build bigger ships, you will also have better equipment and tools to build them so why not be able to repair them faster?

So you're saying that it is unreasonable that ships can get repaired 20% in one phase of battle but only like 5% from one year in the hangar?

Well, do you think that's reasonable? smiley: wink I think the idea to improve repairs by industry/hangar/whatever flies around here for some time.

I think it's absurd possibility of ship repair in battle. (card engineering)

Doing repair dock, not good idea.



Should be slowly automatic repairing ONLY in own empire terroritory. Or pay dust for fast repair.

I disagree on this point. Ship Engineers should be able to repair even in hostile territory. Why should the territory prevent me from getting some electronics fixed?

In what world do you live that, a ship in a dock cant be fixed faster? Why do you think the navy has dry docks and the like. 30 seconds in battle and you can heal loads but for some reason docked in your own hanger and you repair at a rate as if you have two untrained 10 year olds fixing the ship?

I would like to see system improvement repair stuff for both In-orbit and in dock (With launching from dock taking a turn), and a fleet repair module of similar vain to the current ones for transport ships (A civilian module to use to module) for repair in hostile territory slower then fleet repair in neutral and of course friendly territory.



And as before, the nano-repair module to be a temporary repair card leaving a ship at base with 1 HP if the repair level was larger then the remaining HP.

Level base ship construction (For the addition of medium and large ships) for the purpose of creating proper sized ships at appropriate systems, Is something I also agree with.



Never liked that a brand new colony could build dreadnaughts.

I knew my population growth would at least reduce it to around 30-40 turns.

What if ships auto healed at a higher rate, but they just cost more in maintenance when they are damaged?

I'm a big fan of the idea of a system level repair improvement. Among other things, it just 'feels' more realistic. ("She's taken quite a pounding Captain. Two drives are completely fragged, half the weapons aren't safe to fire, the main memory core has an actual crack in it, five full decks are open to space... sorry sir, I can't patch this up myself. We're going to have to take her in to the Fleet Yards at Taurus for real repairs.")
