UX PROBLEM: The current 'empire wide bonus factors' -view is really hard to read. Bonuses are not grouped and it's hard to get a good overview of things when the view shows only 5 bonuses out of possibly a hundred.

SOLUTION: New expanded view which can be toggled on/off with an arrow button in the 'EMPIRE WIDE BONUS FACTORS' -header

COMMENTS: The pic is just a quick sketch to show what I mean. F.e. grouping could use some more thinking :P The system view scrollbar showing from the right side is also a bit weird, could resize the UI elements a bit to fix this. Some of the bonus texts are a bit weird and indistinguishable. F.e. the Horatio population faction traits could have planet sizes mentioned in them.

Added a poll to the thread.

So do you folks want an optional view where you could see all the empire wide bonuses? My picture shows a simple and robust expanded view. Ideally, that view could show more details about the origin of those buffs and maybe do some summary as well. F.e. calculate the total bonuses to FIDS/Approval/etc. under each category.

Brilliant, I love it.

Thanks <3

As for luxury resources, I'd like to see the monopoly bonuses they give in the empire wide bonuses section as well. Now I just have to mouseover all my luxuries and memorize the effects they give and add that to the other f.e. production buffs I get from empire wide bonuses. Really bothersome. Having them all in the same view would be easier. If I can easily see the areas that my empire shines at, I can adjust my strategy accordingly.

Also, I'd love it if "No"-voters would explain why they don't want an optional view that they don't even have to use if they don't want to :P

Actually I have some questions regarding the information in this screenshot of the empire management

What does +2 white person symbol mean in the "other system bonuses" screen?

Similary, what does the +200% luxury base FIDS bonus form expire wide improvement mean/do?

Finally, what is a "buyout bonus" and what does it do?

Thank you for helping me!

+2 white person = +2 to maximum population on planets, but it should be more clear, specifying the planet size as well.

+200% luxury base FIDS bonus = you get more bonuses from your luxury resources that give FIDS bonuses. F.e. hydromiel gives +3 food per population on the planet, with this empire bonus (gained from tech), you get +9 food instead.

buyout bonus = it's cheaper to buy improvements/ships with dust instead of waiting for industry to build them (buyout mechanic = use dust to complete production)

Good thing you asked, since one of the things I mentioned in the starting post was that some of the bonuses are confusing and they could use some better description texts smiley: smile

Thanks for answering. I hope the devs are reading this one, because I suppose more people like me have these questions.

A solution to the buff origin issue could be to simply mouse over the buffs and get another rundown of where they all come from. I also agree with the collapsible window suggestion.
