When a race declares war on me early game and then I become more powerful and start destroying them and they want peace, there should be options to allow you to alter the proposals. In the real world if another country is losing a war they don't just say let's have a cease fire, there is usually stipulations that come with that loss, I think it should be the same way in ES.

It would make diplomacy a bit more approachable, and I wouldn't be surprised if counter-offers are already an idea in design for diplomacy.

Yea, I really hope to see a lot more work in this field, I am at peace with another Sophon race (I'm Sophon as well) and theyre -4 (neutral) to me and they won't accept a single deal I propose, even if it's completely one sided towards them.
