First of all, I'm loving this game, keep up the good work!
As for my suggestion, and I'm terribly sorry if this has been brought up before, although I couldn't find it:
Make it possible to choose random opponents. I don't want to know beforehand if I'll be encountering Cravers or Sophons or whatever, finding out while playing is much more fun.
I completely agree, it would be more fun if you didn't know what was out there, like it the way it might actually be if you where leading a race heading into space for the first time.
