At most random events, I ask myself "which system does it affect"? I suggest to make clear if an event affects the entire empire, just one system (WHICH ONE?), a specific fleet or my entire armada. A list of "current effects" also would be welcome. (Maybe it already is in that tiny little scrollable list within the entire screen - can we have this list in full screen?)
Yeah, like KNC said, every event that I've gotten (that I can remember, anyway) have had empire-wide effects. Either all the systems or all the fleets have been affected.
And as suggested in my thread Random Events & Researching Fixes if there were a way to research a fix, I do believe it would be a given that you'd have a notification of how long till the problem is remedied.
