There is some hard coding that makes things work that way, and I am not certain of any of them.

But generally that is all you will need to know (Becuse really if the is that diffrence of the numbers then you should expect to evade anyway.) smiley: wink

Super simple way of thinking about it:

The interseption evasion and accuracy nubers are a dice roll, each number from flak is put against a missile per the 3 rounds of travel time (Thus leading to 1 flak killing 3 missiles on adverage).

These two numbers are rolled against each other for the round (1 flak to 1 missile, flak does not stack on less missiles, and more missiles then flak leaves missiles free for a round) The module with the higher number (Or flak on a draw) wins meaning either the missile survives or it doesnt.

Thus as you go up the tech tree these accuracy and evasion values go up, making the dice roll larger and reducing the chance of a lower level module from wining the roll.

(And that is all you really need to know about them!)

I'm not sure about he IA though, from reading others, it seems that IA is a set value, so as long as IE X 4 is less than IA, the missile will always be intercepted?

That's my point. A destroyer with only tier 1 flaks should be absolutely immune against two destroyers with only tier 1 missiles.
actually you made a mistake here, tier 1 flak IA is 13 which is far less than tier 1 missile IE X 4=40! so it will not immune to attack! immune is only happened when the fleet is assigned with defence hero.

Did you do the calc against only tier 1 flaks?

No but tier 1 flak is the most effective module to defence missiles (with heroes), because higher tier flaks will deal with the same number of missiles but take more spaces.

it will overcome any flak defense.

flak will destroy the missile that shot at your ship, one flak can intercept up to 3 missiles per phase since the missile will take 3 turn before it reach the target ship

so yeah flak will destroy them, i do not know if 2 flak can target same missile or not but it's seem if you want to get through flak defense then you must have more missile

than flak can take down.
this does not explain how flak works.

here is what I find:

missiles: have interceptionEvasion value (IE)

flak: have interceptionAccuracy value (IA)

so, when missile is on target to ship with flak, the IE value will be compared to IA like this: if (Random value of 0~IE) X (TurnBeforeReach+1) < IA value, the missile is 100% intercepted, so in default, if (IE X 4) < IA, this missile will 100% intercepted, although it is not common, but with the hero's trait to IA value, that will stop any missile to be effective. UNLESS! Unless if there is too many missiles, since each phase, 1 flak can deal with number of missiles = TurnBeforeReach, in default, 1 flak can deal with 3 missile each phase, so if you have a lot more (3 times more) missiles than flak, flak will become useless, and the IE value will become useless as well, so if you build with lots of tier 1 missiles, it will overcome any flak defense.

Most people already know this, I just write this down to remind myself, in case I forget.
