Just a quick one, what conditions have to be fulfilled for a friendly AI to trade a star system with you?

Is there an easier way to move ships? Its a hard when using a laptop that only has a mouse pad with no individual buttons on it.

Mice are cheap, I saw wireless ones in Target for $2 once. It was probably a huge sale, but simply put a mouse isn't really a huge investment.

That said, there's really no easier way to move ships. If it helps, you can hold Shift to queue up orders, but they won't be fulfilled until you release the mouse button, so you won't accidentally click anything.

Hi. Can anyone explain how happiness work with The Harmony? Does it affect the Disharmony penalty on FIDS or has it no effect at all?

It has no effect at all.

However, they do suffer from some sort of control unhappiness whenever you take over another team's colony. It absolutely wrecks its economy for a few turns.

Thx. One should think this made them easy to play but i have never had such a hard time against normal AI with any other faction.. Seems i can`t get up to pace in early/mid game with the expansion penalty`s and the zero growth while building colony ships. Guess i need more practice and focus on going all science to get the barrier tech early.

I dont think the AI will ever trade systems with you regardless of your standing. At least I never saw it happening. On the other hand once pressure is applied (have him in a lockhold threatening to take over some of his most valuable systems) will make him agree on cease fire offers with systems linked to it.

Why AI doesn't build fighters and bombers?

It does sadly the AI ship designs often try to mirror your own or counter them especially on higher difficulties. Meaning if you build ships with mainly lasers the AI will bring ship designs with heavy laser defense to counter you. If your ships have a good fighter/bomber defense it will use those modules less and less because they are not very effective against you. Also if you improve your systems to counter troops and bombers more effectively the AI will start to rely on pure invasion fleets taking lots turns to take over the system instead of trying instant-invasions.

If you are asking because of certain achievements the best way would probably be to "lure" the AI into using those modules because you appear to be lacking in your defense against them.

Oh, my AI occasionally builds Fighters and bombers, but then again I never build the Flak improvements and oly get point defence when I get a discount or simply want to use up those Specialslots without actually investing that much Tonnage. It's also VERY faction dependent, while Hissho and Amoeba are quite fond of fighters and sometimes even have the odd bomber. I've fought Myriads of Horatio without even a single squad. Pilgrims and automatons use them on rare occasion.

ony my personal experience.

My empire and research UI say I make 9K science a turn, my trading UI says my trade income (alone?) is 16K science, how much science do I actually make? :-O Is it 25K? is it 9K? If it's 9K only, then WHY? :-D

Do the xenotourism agencies work? I didn't notice a +8 on my system that had 1 colonized arid planet.

Edit: nvm, turns out it doesn't work in outpost systems.

This has to be asked again: is there new plans for LAN support and of not, why isn't every single person on your working towards fixing the endless space connection issues. They are killing the game smiley: frown!!

If you do a Google search for that achievement you should find a forum thread on the Steam forums that tells you which two heroes you need. At that thread you should see where I posted the easiest way to get this achievement.

You have to hire those two specific heroes in the same game. With how big the hero list is the achievement is virtually impossible and based entirely on luck. It's very rare to even get one of the two heroes to appear on your list of available heroes to hire. One is a Commander/Adventurer the other is an Adventurer/Commander. Even with a custom race that has both Headhunter-Adventurer and Headhunter-Commander you can't ensure either one will appear, because these traits force all commander and adventurer combos to appear more often. There are a lot of Commander/Pilot, Commander/Administrator, Commander/Corporate, Adventurer/Pilot, Adventurer/Administrator and Adventurer/Corporate heroes that these two traits will force as well.

There are currently 74 heroes in Vanilla and 81 in Disharmony.

Dear All.

I have a question regarding the United Empire unique empire improvement: "Industrial Hegemony".

The wiki says:

+1% Empire's Influence added to Dust on Home System

+1% Empire's Influence added to Industry on Home System

Does this mean, for every 1% of the map that is under the Empire's influence, +1 Dust and +1 Industry is added to the Home System?

Or am I reading it wrong?

Thanks in advance!
