Multiplayer problems - connecting and hosting games.

My friend has an issue with multilayer for Endless Space.



He can't join or host multilayer games.



He gets the message: "connecting to server..." then the "error 0x00000004"



Anyone have this problem?



We do NOT use hamachi and our download + cloud settings on steam are the same region.





Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had this problem a while ago before the Multiplayer got a fix... which fixed my problem. I can't help, because I didn't look for a solution in the first place. Of course do the usual; ports, firewall and all that.

if you aren't using Hamachi BUT have it installed (or other VPN softwares), make sure it is uninstalled. Otherwise, as suggested above, tell your friend to check his/her router settings: open the required Steam ports and set the router to DMZ.
