*facepalm* Don't listen to Synaptic, I've played enough games with him to know he is just an impatient person. Hope you will learn to take your time, untill then: Goodbye! smiley: smile

Not so much impatient as intolerant.

I refuse to tolerate sh!tty game design that leads to long stretches of wasted time that's neither rewarding nor enjoyable.

I enjoy games that reward skill over slot machines.

Likewise, I enjoy Chess greater than Video Poker.

Impatience? Only for what's asinine.

Then don't play a game where chance is involved?

You can't moan about random, unbalanced, (unfair) map design when using a random map generator...

so, with the logic of our OP here, just because the multiplayer in this game is poor, it must be removed from the hard-drive despite enjoying the singleplayer...

In honesty, some people are bored by single player games, and only find enjoyment when playing online with other people. I can sort of relate - I'll still play single player games, but now when I make decisions on what games to buy, I'll try to focus on multiplayer games.

Tell it to Amplitude man, they're the responsible party.

Specifically what factors cause you (or others who do this) to ragequit due to poor position? There is at least one modder working on fixing this. My thought was that two factors would "justify" ragequitting for this reason. 1. Less than three planets in your constellation, no matter how good they are, 2. After assigning point values to your local system based on tier 1, tier 2, etc, if there is less than a certain total point value. Note this does not count anything related to luxury or strategic resources, because I feel most ragequits are early, before strat resources are even visible.

In this case I'd put my money on "I'm ragequitting not because my system is putting me at a disadvantage, but because it's not putting me at an extreme advantage."

I have absolutely no idea what you're on about. There exists about 100 posts on this forum talking about how idiotic the mapgen is. If you can't get a clue from the litany of historical posts on the matter, I'm not going to be able to help you with this one.

Also, I will *never* download a mod unless it is offered through an Amplitude approved "appstore." Period. So mods are at this point an entirely moot point for me.

Also mods suck for MP, especially with the pathetic matchmaking facilities provided with ES. Does everyone have the right mods? Are they the right version? Does everyone understand how the mods change the game enough to play competently? It's a cluster funk.

Amplitude needs to fix their game, not shove off the responsibility onto a bunch of random modders to polish their turds.

- Nerf Hissho

- Fix maps

- Fix heros

- Fix the f'ing desync

- Matchmaking lobby

- All the other valid complaints

AMPLITUDE. Not modders I neither know nor trust.

Thanks.

Since you have complained about map generation, I thought you might be interested in constructively discussing it. If you just want to complain instead of helping, that is your right.

Well i guess this is base for a decent algorithm .

But my point isnt about absolute value of systems cause imho it isnt that important.Whats important is it relative value to others: if everybody got only arid planets and 2 of them im ok , fair chances. If i got 3 oceans systems and somebody gets 6 terran garden of eden im still screwed.

Ofc if some minimum level would be achieved for each palyer it would still be much better then its today.

I have been playing on the Euro server region the last couple weeks. A lot of hosts like to suddenly quit. It's not really rage, it seems more that they realized something and want to retry. It is bothersome for everyone else tho, they don't even say anything, they just up and quit.

A host quitting the game, and thus ending the game for everyone abruptly, is BY FAR the most annoying thing to me. I've only seen a few games actually end because somebody won (out of around 25 games).
