I have a little soft spot for heavy agression steamrolling new players, especially the freebies this weekend, its quite sad that they dont even play more than 2-3 playthroughs single player but ah oh well, for more veteran players i actually like the early conflict.



Though since this game is so new the wide breadth of build/research order knowledge isnt around, and thus games are usually one sided which isn't too fun either

This is why I want independant empires and pirate bases, to block your passage until you earn the right to engage the other empires.

Yea a lot of players TRY to be aggressive, and they fail epically if you know how to stop them. I think the real problem with aggression right now is that players of hugely different skill levels are playing together. So aggression from the more experienced players easily overwhelms and seems extremely unfair to the newer player. On the other hand, when newer players aggressively pressure/rush/attack me, they tend to ragequit not long after.

Prepare for it - it's not that hard to counter.



Perfectly acceptable, though in most of our multiplayer games (given we're a group of friends) we avoid super early game aggression as it sucks for 1 person to be knocked out in the first 50 turns.

Yes, it is a strategy, it belongs to this game type and i really like to let them run into a well prepared open knife. Or to be washed away by a better prepared Agro Guy...
