Generally I haven't had any trouble finding games. There are plenty of games every night, and you can almost always find a game to join. That being said, in off periods of the day, if you want to play a full game of 8 players, you would probably have to wait a while. Overall, since they switched the steam domain to worldwide, I have never had much difficulty finding a game.



Note: It also helps to invite a friend or two to your game. Once a game has multiple players, the remaining slots tend to fill up a bit more quickly.

I assume you're worried about the popularity. I can assure you the game is very popular and you will have no problems finding a game, although the game is currently facing huge technical issues that are being resolved. It is very well worth it even without MP, there's just so much depth to the game, it's really good.



Yes, the game in its current state is not playable in Multiplayer. Nevertheless I would advise you to buy the game, the devs are doing their best to fix it. I myself, like many others, are currently not playing until the issues are resolved. But I have played almost every single 4X game that's out there, and this one is by far the best one I've come across.

I wouldn't say it isn't playable, it's just that you do have a high probability in larger and longer games of having problems. I have played flawless games with 2 players on many occasions. In larger games, the host will have to reload at the first sign of de-sync, or yes, the game will become unplayable.

Some players might be like me, not joining multiplayer for fear of being completely dominated :P

Finding games is not an issue, (before the desync bug) I would always see 10+ games in the multiplayer section, what you would have to worry about is this confusing learning curve :P

If you want to improve, ask questions while being stomped. Instead of the usual "GG I don't have fleets yet, green is attacking me guys, 1100 mp fleets, I quit cheater"
