What's even more funny is that I went through all the trouble to upload it as an attachment just never checked to see if the system put it through or not XD

Stardate 3044 AD. Took office and just let things travel on as is while surveying the land my predecessors did not seek out their surroundings and I can see I will have a lot of work ahead of me

Stardate 3045 AD. The best way to prevent war is to be prepared for war I have moved our research into means of protecting ourselves

Stardate 3046 AD. Skuoi Kyryi of the endless has been training at the Main lab and has picked up The ability to Dust Mine and this will help our dust issues for now

Stardate 3047 AD. Research 1 departed today the two Corsairs are heading out of our small area to explore and find out what is out there.

Stardate 3048 AD. Research 1 has left the system and found Echius system they met a intelligent species they call themselves the united empire we also were besieged by pirates as soon as we left the portal Research 1 held its own and no ships were lost

Stardate 3049 AD. As expected the research in the military has done well the people are still happy and we are starting to get a defensive fleet together by the end of my term I should have a small fleet for defense. The pirates attacked again and so did the ship from the United Empire they were dispatched with ease leaving just us defending Echius and preventing people from entering our home lands

Stardate 3050 AD. We were attacked again by this United Empire I have ordered the width-drawl of Research one to re-equip and to expand its fleet. Thomaem Labefdil While training in Eden has been promoted to director 3

Stardate 3051 AD. Skuoi Kyryi Has found a technique to increase our since production. with the creation of Baryonic Shilding we can now colonize lava planets

Stardate 3052 AD. Research one has been refitted and I have added additional ships to the fleet. They were sent back out to Echius to look around.

Stardate 3053 AD. The Pilgrims want to offer us Peace but are demanding a tribute I told them to take their offer and leave my sight

Stardate 3054 AD. Some how the dust infused our heroes and they got a glimpse of some sort into each others minds and gained knowledge from this Skuoi Kyryi Has better learned how to negotiate and Thomaem Labefdil Has found a better way to teach others increasing production in his system

Stardate 3055 AD. Pirates were spotted over at the Screwdrive system I am preparing a fleet to deal with the problem

Stardate 3056 AD. The pirates Blockaded the System Screwdrive it will be a year or two before I can get a fleet to them

Stardate 3057 AD. United Empire Attacked again at Echius Research one deemed it safe to engage. Research one lost a ship but took two of the United Empire ships down.

Stardate 3058 AD. My last term in office I shall attempt to get re elected in the future but I hand off my reigns at the end of this year. Skuoi Kyryi has made another discovery increasing our science once again. Our fleet at Echius were attacked again and after the loss of a ship I advised them to pull back to Rainbows to refit and repair doing a offensive width-drawl we took out one of their ships before pulling back.

I have screen shots as well of the battle results and other things but I feel it makes it harder to read so I left them out.

Succession Game Turn 59.zip I look forward to my next attempt

Okay; so a bit of progress, some levelling up... and our first battles. Our fleet seemed to do ok - but we're besieged. Was a bit nailbiting there as I read the posts, waiting to see our fleets get obliterated. Good thing that hasn't happened yet haha.

Yet.

T41, you're up.

OK I have finished hope you like it. I'll add the screenshots in a little while smiley: biggrin

High Command 3059

I have infiltrated the Sophon's government and have found one who is running for president to be their "advisor". It was a close race but he managed to win with some assistance. The first action he took was to raise taxes to 25%. I suggested he rename a certain system called Qarius to Lonely due to how far apart it was from all the other systems. I also managed to negotiate peace with those fanatical Pilgrims only if they shared their secrets to Containment Fields and Xenominerology. Rainbow 3 was slightly damaged through the carelessness of one of my predecessors so was docked to repair. Two fleets circling our main laboratory were merged and then sent to intercept a pirate fleet going to Lonely.

3060

After a years worth of Sophon vegetables, I greatly miss meat. I have some Pilgrims smuggle in some and relish the time when i get it. Oh, how I miss you, bacon... After surveying the moon of Eden, a Temple of the Extended Conscious was found. After a series of negotiations with the Pilgrims, I managed to exchange Graviton Manipulation for 107 smiley: dust. I used this to hire a skilled fleet commander; admiral Forsythe became commander Rainbows 1.

3061

Almost all colonies are in the process of building CIS/OORT Satellites to increase our influence in this region of space. Also, the governor of Eden took some lessons in motivational leadership which increased food output , not that it was really needed.

3062

I have been working with the Pilgrims to ascertain the whereabouts of President Pan. So far it has been fruitless but we've found a promising lead. The pirates are almost at Lonely and the new commander is eager to test his skills. I deemed it would be wise to increase our science output and lowered taxes to 20%.

3063

The results ate literally astronomical! The satellites put a huge portion of interstellar space and closed the gaps between our systems. I also sent instructions to any system with a moon surveyed to sweep the surface for Dust remains. It seems Pan never made it into Pilgrim space. No reports of a Sophon ship ever passing into Pilgrim space. I still think there is hope for finding him.

3064

The battle over Lonely was a huge success. The pirates fell swiftly to our ship's lasers. The new commander gained some much needed experience and he became more effective in combat. Production in Eden is soaring and the people are ever happy with this rule.

3065

Our scientists, after years of research, have figured out ways to remove the worst anomalies from planets, making the people even happier. I then advised that we should research Efficient shielding technologies to allow for bigger and beater ships while also researching Depleted Isotopes for fighters. The Endless also became better at negotiating to help with science and dust. Taxes were then lowered to 10%.

3066

Usual stuff. Queued buildings, Ind to Dust/science etc.

3067

Some more speeches, visiting planets, mobilizing workers. It seems that Pan was intercepted by a UE ship and taken into their territory. This will have to be looked into more.

3068

Confirmed, Pan is held by the UE, negotiations have commenced, although they are uncooperative at the moment.

3069

Ten year anniversary of my superior's election. Had to go to a dinner party where all they talk about is how someone has discovered the end of pi and what happens in an event horizon of a black hole and how that has something to do with the Sowers. I was take n away from my table (thank the lord) with urgent news. We know where Pan is being held. The UE demand that we give them Dust in exchange for him, but we don't have anywhere close to the amount they demand. Hopefully we can end this peacefully.

3070

Started designs for the new ships. Added the new fighters to the new but we still need Hexaferum to use them. The new freighters carry maxed out invasion modules and one medium range laser. I've ordered these designs because tensions have increased with the UE. We've acquired the schematics on where he is just in case things go sour.

3071

The designs have been completed and I've ordered them to be constructed on Eden. Two will max out the amount the only fleet we have to twelve ships. Negotiations for Pan's return are going nowhere I've ordered the training of a Sophon tactical team to extract him next year.

3072

We have gotten Pan out but not too quietly. Our new combined fleet waits on the border of UE space in case of retaliation.

3073

The UE have found out and have declared war on us. I immediately sent the fleet to invade them. However they also sent a fleet to the system it just left but luckily it has no invasion power. Ironic how I started this term by making peace and ended it with war. Pan is now safe and in hiding because we might still convince the Pilgrims that it was they that acted first. I hope the next ruler will get these people through this war.

Well, we have a fleet of twelve ships, which is good news. Of course, the UE has four fleets of twelve, and they're busy bombarding Rainbows. Hmm! All the Sophons are so fat, why do they have so much food?

Turn 74:

I queue up many ships after a redesign which, admittedly, gave few real benefits but it's a start. I pull the plug on a research project that'd improve our sphere of influence and redirect efforts to improve production.

I want to open our borders to the pilgrims but they might colonise the last colonisable system in our sector. Damn, it'll have to wait. I wanted to set the pilgrims on the UE.

I also decide to leave our fleet invading its current target (Echius) - in the meantime I'll create other fleets. My main fleet will have more of a chance with backup. Quite a risk to take in my first year, but I have no way of knowing how the enemy will respond to my invasion. I'm willing to lose (and retake) Rainbows. Tax goes up to 15%.

Turn 75:

They sent their main hero, an impressive level 8, to intercept our attack fleet; and they split their force at Rainbows to push further into our space. I am disappointed to find that my fleet has been outfitted entirely with long range beam weapons. We pull off a defensive retreat and then managed to beat off a fleet at Rainbows.

Turn 76:

This is chaotic! I deployed a Corsair at Main Lab to defend it, while that damn hero of theirs took us from behind at Rainbows. Our fleet tricked her into an ambush and destroyed her entirely before being beset by yet another fleet. Three of our ships managed to escape back to Eden, where they repair and reinforce.

We colonise Ingris, which allows us to then open borders with the pilgrims - they threw in Atmospheric Engineering to sweeten the deal. I then give them Soil Revivification, for 90 Dust each turn until the end of time (until they run out of Dust actually). This will help us afford ship repairs.

Turn 77:

Advanced Simulations can now allow us to fit more equipment onto our Corsairs and Trebuchets. I found more colonies.

Turn 78:

Our fleet's fully repaired, but not at full strength; I send it to Rainbows anyway. It drives off another UE fleet with ease - only three left there now.

Turn 79:

I get stuck into a very interesting treatise on the inducive properties of meso-schematics.

Turn 80:

We're chipping away at these UE fleets, but there are so many of them!

Turn 81:

Four more UE fleets arrive at Rainbows. Really? If only I was still an undergraduate Soph-omore; life seemed so easy then.

Turn 82:

Rainbows is lost to us; I suppose I'll have to take it back now. Tax goes down to 10%.

Turn 83:

I'm losing Corsairs occasionally but the larger Trebuchets are strong. Alpha remains our only functional fleet; we're just keeping it afloat due to attrition. This turn, I sent some more Sophons to the grinder. I admit, I feel confident in our superior technology despite our apparent lack of progress. (That's what I wrote in my report to MainLab. Wonder if they'll buy it?)

Turn 84:

The good news is that Alpha fleet is now certainly one of the strongest fleets in our sector, with Commander Forsythe racking up the levels. We've managed to slow down the UE onslaught with almost no impact on our colonies nor our precious, precious research.

The bad news is: more UE reinforcements!

Turn 85:

The UE beat us off from Rainbows. Their ships darken the skies!

Turn 86:

I pretended nothing was wrong when I visited Mumsie for breakfast this morning. There may still be some hope in the universe for all Sophons. She orated on the virtues of Pi; I ate some.

Turn 87:

They DARE to attack Eden! We sent them running, but - they grow bolder. Their new Cruisers are a match for our Trebuchets. Good thing the Sophons are looking into new, more powerful fighter tech.

Turn 88:

Eden is besieged. Even the legendary commander Forsythe could not repel their merciless waves. I can't help feeling that the UE is out-producing us. The Pilgrims can't afford to pay us for the Tech we gave them anymore.

I find myself turning more and more towards the security of science; thought - if non-e variable influx attendent upon cosine rampant, then...

Turn 89:

*Gone fishing*

Just a thought - perhaps it's a bad idea to nerf the succession game through 'sub-optimal decision making'. smiley: smile
