Here's my custom faction. Been working on it for a while, finally decided what playstyle and background it was going to have.

The Evocati

Background

The Evocati are the descendants of a group of scientists and bodyguards investigating a system that was supposedly a goldmine of Endless technology. After colonising several planets in the system they discovered what appaered to be thousands of miniature versions of the Endless 'Solar Farm' that had been discovered several years ago before being siezed by the United Empire. Hoping to use them to power the colonies, the scientists ordered them flown into space, in orbit around the colonies. However, further research showed that the satellites were not intended to orbit around the planets. It wasn't simply a massive solar farm they had discovered.

It was a Dyson Sphere.

The scientists feverishly worked to maneuvre more and more of the satellites into position around the system's sun, but it was all for nothing. A massive pirate raid attacked the system, most likely for the purpose of stealing the Endless technology, and destroyed the fledgling Dyson Sphere before it was even activated. Any surviving scientists and guards fled in a hastily converted habitation ship, hoping to reach the relative safety of United Empire space. The badly damaged ship, however, simply couldn't make the journey, and was forced to land on an unkown world, luckily rich in dust.

After just over a century of isolation and hiding, the Evocati are ready to emerge.

Faction Traits

Advanced Machining: during their period in hiding, the Evocati were able to develop several advanced robotics and computing systems from what little Endless tech they had bought with them.

Deadly Weapons 1: The Evocati have had years alone to fine-tune their weapon systems for the day the would once again reach for the stars.

Dust Archeology 1, Dust Lode: The planet where the Evocati were forced to land on after fleeing the pirates was extremely rich in dust. As a result they have something of an obsession with the substance.

Dust Recyclers 1, Knowledge Gathering 1: The Evocati tear apart the wreckage of enemy ships defeated in combat, looking for any possible resources or technology to further augment their own.

Masters of Destruction 1: The Evocati, for the first few years on the unkown planet, manufactured almost nothing but weapons, fearing the pirates would soon find them. It turns out they have been successful when applying this expertise to starship weapons.

Optimal structure 1: The Evocati build their ships with slightly smaller Modules than those used by the other empires. This allows them to fit more systems onto ships.

Optimistic 1: The Evocati have long been dreaming for the day that they would return to the stars, and are highly optimistic about what other civilizations and worlds they will find.

Scientists 1: Well, duh.

Slow Travelers 2: While the Evocati may be eager to return to the stars, their substandard engines let them down, making journeys much longer.

I would recommend Automaton Affinity, as I had very impressive production by mid-game, roughly 100 every turn. Pilgrims appearance is also recommended for no other reason that personal taste.

I have updated my sheet. I started venturing myself into the world of modding and made my custom faction much more unique! Though, I haven't figured out how to get the pirate alliance thing working yet and I'm running out of ideas how to, so I might need help on that one—if it's even possible. smiley: stickouttongue

The Amarr (inspired by the faction from EVE online)

United empire affinity

Entrepreneurs (extremely wealthy merchants)

Rebellion 1 (their propaganda and enslavement facilitates this)

Blockade Breakers (once again, merchants, so they trade with everyone)

Businessmen 2 (same as above)

Cloning (the empire needs food to survive, and their work repartition systems are efficient)

Deadly weapons 1 (you don't enslave people and carve out for yourself a sizeable portion of a galaxy with wet cardboard and wooden swords)

Dust archeology

Dust impaired 2 (they have so much they don't care how to spend it)

Fast travelers 1 (their technology allows them warp drive)

Feeble warriors 2 (I had to pick some flaws)

Growth plan 1

Revenge 1 (they don't forgive, they don't forget, they're too prideful for that)

Sloppy sawbones 2

Spray and pray 1

The price of beauty 1 (ships are a way of making their beliefs concrete)

Unskilled builders 1

PIRATE ALLIANCE (Nox Pirates):

Pirates are allied.

Pirate fleets can spawn on owned systems inside influence.

45% - 100% tax rate will give 0% - 100% pirate spawn rate.

Warfare tech tree is similar to United Empire.

This faction is based on a people from a work of fiction I'm still developing. I haven't got around writing much lore about them yet, and everything is still work in progress, so I will be brief.

The Darkken Federation began as a coalition of warrior societies who, despite being engaged in a relentless territorial war, united to fight a common enemy. With much experience gained from the many wars they were involved in on the homeworld, they are renowned for their military prowess. When the Space Colonization period arrived, most nations colonized systems in the vicinity of the homeworld. However, the Darkken dreamed big and aimed for the center of the galaxy. Distant from the others, their expansion was unfettered by competing nations. The Darkken favor quality over quantity, yielding strong and advanced ships. In spite of that, their vast expansion means that quantity might be part of the equation as well. While the Federation extensively engage in trade and diplomacy, they very rarely open their borders to anyone but their closest allies. Because they maintain close ties with pirate forces (going as far as actually funding the scumbags,) Darkken territory is a dangerous place for outsiders to venture, and neighboring empires fall victim to numerous raids. The Federation has strong peaceful restraints, but they will not hesitate to go to war if provoked.

The Federation has a relatively wide arsenal of ships, but these are the most common:

EsR Strix:
Class: Frigate

A fast and maneuverable ship armed with multiple missile ports. Designed in the early years of the Space Colonization period, its purpose was to defend Darkken territory from pirate raiders and other attacks.

DF4 Vulture:
Class: Destroyer

A relatively small ship for its class, but packs a punch. Most often found in large groups led by a Hedron cruiser.

F-66 Hedron:
Class: Cruiser

A large ship with powerful capabilities. It is most often seen solo, leading fleets of Vultures and is easily confused for a battleship due to its strenght.

C-34 Crux:
Class: Battleship

Also known as the Corsair, it is a highly versatile ship and the mainstay of the Darkken Navy.

Would be nice, but I doubt It'll happen.

I was thinking,

Why don't we all include the xml files of our races, so other people can download it?

Lately i watched Gay niggers from outer space, and decided to make a faction based on them. I didn't make any big changes, just took Piligrims, gave them aggressive Cravers-affinity (so they could start freeing men as soon as possible), almost all craver traits, except for "eternal war" (of course I deleted some traits, but i can't actually recall what traits) , and crowded planets-trait I've changed for cloning. And you HAVE to name your ships in offensive gay way. It was quite fun to play with this kind of faction :3

Cravers Ravers

The normal attitude toward the Cravers Ravers is envy.

Half-insect, half-machine, their only desire is to move their bodies while listening to music.

They have little understanding of tiredness or boredom or silence.

And if they do not dance, they will consume themselves.

And their hive leader would much prefer to dance with you!

Craver affinity

Optimistic - 2/2 (+20 approval on system)

Naïve – 2/2 (+8 approval per faction at peace or allied with on system)

Crowded planets - 2/2 (+2 pop. on small, +2 on tiny, +1 on medium)

Stellar guardians – 2/2 (+4 influence area on system)

Dust recyclers – 2/2 (+20 dust for each destroyed enemy CP on empire)

Heroic medicine - 2/2 (-50% healing cost on hero)

Spendthrifts – 1/3 (-10% dust on system)

Feeble warriors - 2/2 (-25% defense on system, -8 defense per pop. on system)

Spray ‘n Pray – 2/3 (-10% accuracy on fleet weapons)

64/65 points total

Someone may say that they suck, but the Cravers Ravers prefer to live fast and die young.

Cravers Ravers’ systems have great influence areas because everyone likes cool music. Even boring Sophons. They like endless parties and don’t care about military stuff, sometimes they kill disturbing aliens (‘Don’t kill your neighbours with weapons – kill’em on the dancefloor’ is the main rule for this faction only when the Cravers Ravers have enough dust to keep raving), but it’s so difficult to aim when you’re high. Yeah, their tireless DJ heroes know everything about drugs. And may be about happiness… For 60 turns.

I posted that build in an own Thread but sadly i did that in the wrong place and nobody was giving me an reply

i hope it is no problem that i post this here again maybe i got here some opinions and feedback maybe ; )

And Maybe i post my Craver Affinity build someday too it is also kickass

But First the exotic Sowers ; )

PS: how did u do that to offer an download of your custom races ; ) ?

I would like to start and i like to introduce you my Sower Affinity Custom Race i would like to hear your Opinion /Your Races / Your Experiences with that Race (but it is not forbidden to post other affinity custome races ^^ )

TESTED IN NORMAL SPEED

Race = Custom Race

Costume Name = Von Neumann Probes

Tactic/Victory = Massive industries / Massive/early/fast Spawn of Military Fleets

Comment: Von Neumann Probes,the Xenon/AGI (or Artificial General Intelligence),they shall be the Replicators...the Cylons...the Decepticons...the Reapers...the Heretics

They have no respect for biological life with their immense industries they produce Massive Fleets in no time and simple Outnumbers every Enemy Forces

to purify finally the Galaxy from the inferior CO2 based Creatures.

Planets: YOU WILL ALWAYS build Industry Buldings....who needs Food!?...to feed the biological slaves...maybe...

Dust:

YOUR MONEY goes into your Military....if dont build Ships for any reason simply transform industries in Dust...in a few Turns u will be rich again

In early Game there is a little lack of Money till Turn 20...but thats normal in mid to late game you got much money.

Science:

Same Princip as Dust...If u dont build Ships in a System...and/or buildings and u dont need money you transform industrie in Science Points ; ) because

We don't have time for Science...we have to Build massive Reapers! ...But when we have vacation from that simply turn industries in Science and you

will be have a good research points amount....maybe if u found a planet perfect for research...u may be allowed to build a laboratory ...but that not the casual case/ casual u can save the food techs...and diplomacy techs....so you can focus on fleets/industries which brings a good science advantage too.

Summary:

You can make a good game with them...if u got the right Hero...u WILL BE DOMINATE the game with them.

But u have often to Change industries Transformation because this is the Core of the Tactic....all Production based on industries Values!

It flexibility is bigger than u might thougt...cause the most of the time u already have the biggest military...and there are no buildings to build...so what else to do instead of transformation ; )

And the temporarily lacks of money comes from the fact that your fleets are just so gigantic! They do what "Von Neumann Probes" do...replicate themselves ; )

Stats:

Affinity = Sower

-50 % Food from Planet Base Value (as i know)

40% Industrie Points gonna be free to food production

Positive Traits:

- builder (3/3) Mandatory for a fast Strong Economy Infrastructure that u WILL need.

- big Fleets (1/2) or (2/2) Your Main Advantage is that u can produce extremely fast military ships...often 2-4 Ships on 1 Planet in 1 Turn...

to use this advantage properly u need more Fleet Capacity

-entrepreneurs (1/1) it is necessary for the lack of money in the early game and also important later on

-militarist (3/3) Massive industries + Massive Cost reduction = Massive Production i got about till 3000. Fleets around turn 30

-optimistic (1/2) I would like 2/2 but there no points left....Optimistic is important for

1. Even much more production

2. Fast Expand with that Race build if u want to

-legendary Heroes (2/2) set up Taxes High to have 20 Dust in Round 2 Get an industries Hero...get Instantly 25+ Industrie....gives u massive Food +

Industrie for Colo Ships....if u find *good* new systems use the hero to build it up in a few turns.

If u don't get a Hero with industries Perks....then it could be hard for you...then u need colo luck but..in 75% there is One.

Masters of Destruction (1/2) to build your War Fleet even faster... XD

Alternative:

Alternative Big Fleets changed for Optimal Structure(2/2) but i prefer Big Fleets

negative Traits:

offensive First (1/3) - with spendthrifts (3/3) u dont have do pick this one

-Dust Impaired (2/2 ) - Mandatory...comes rare to use

- sloppy Sawbones (2/2) -Mandatory....Same here

-isolationist (1/1) - You hate Co2 Creatures forget?...and you have War Fleets not trade Fleets!

- feeble Warriors (2/2) - Not such a big huge impact....and besides...YOU have the Fleet FORCE to conquer not the others!

- fragile Hulls (2/2) - 1. It's not that huge impact all a matter of the defense modules 2. Your industries replace a destroyed ship with 2 New ones in no time.

-Blackthump (3/3) - You got your food either way from the industries and that's usually enough

- Eternal war (1/1) - You don't have to be a Craver to wanna look like one ; ) (Your Planets get no Locust Points)...But you have the Military Power and industries so why not?

When u didn't Take it simply reduce Militaristic or Masters of Destruction you still produce ships very fast.

- spendthrifts (2/3) OR (3/3) - I personally like (3/3) because when you take (3/3) and also pick Unlucky Colonists (1/1) you have enough points for Masters of Destruction (2/2) AND Optimal Structure (1/2) but you have to wait 1 turn longer to get 20 Dust even with high taxes to hire your Hero.

But I very like Masters of Destruction (2/2) and Masters of Illusion (2/2)...Colo Ships now cost de facto zero....and u can buld in no time an ONLY INVADEMODUL Fleet to assist your Combatfleets from the second ranks and get Systems in no Time too!

SO what are your Opinion?

Fell free to Comment and post your own Experiences ; ) Maybe i have something dumb in this Build or u have ideas to improve? who knows! Say it too me ; )

i think in the Sower Affinity is much Potential...and i almost win every time play with it.

So Please Reply

Greetings Sovereign/In game Harbinger

Edit:

I Tryred an even mory powerfull Variation of this Build here it is:

i Added

+Blockade runners (1/1) +6

+Merchant (2/2) +12

+Diplomats (2/2) +15

+Optimistics from (1/2) to (2/2) +9

+Mineralrich (1/1) +5

- Unlucky Colonists +6

Total Cost Trait Points of 53

Therefore i changed:

-Masters of Destruction from (2/2) to (1/2) -10

-Masters of Illusion from (2/2) to (1/2) -5

-Entrepreneur (1/1) -20

-Optimal Structure from (1/2) to (0/2) +10

-Big Fleets stays on (1/2) +/- 0

+Offensive First from (1/3) to (2/3) -3

Total Traits Points of + 53

I Tested it and it is awesome!!! The Trade benefits your Dust and Science very well ; )

i was impressed how huge the impact of Mineralrich is for a Sower start especially if you dont get an Admin Hero ; )

I'd love to share my 'Solarians' with you but I think they'd be disqualified as they were constructed with a 900 point pool with whch i gave them EVERYTHING!

BWA-HAA-HAAAA!

Yes, my little god-lings just sit there, powerful and aloof, watching the lesser races duke it out until one of their planets catch my interest and then BAM, a squadron of cruisers is sent in and starts laying waste to everything in their path.

I amuse myself by imagining these alien governments going about their business but wringing their hands/tentacles nervously as they try to avoid attracting my attention and bringing wrath down upon them.

This is how i roll.
