So much to respond to! Wouldn't UE becoming a fleet producing monster cause them to start just steam rolling over all races until they all get exterminated?

It would, but not without consequences.

Namely the conscription of about 80% of humanity to serve.

Effectively humanity would be as devastated after an event like that even if they won, and that would probably lead to all those ships rebelling before they would even leave space dock.

Arming the rebels you wanted to destroy, and undoing what you wanted in the first place. But should it comedown to it, the UE will whip its people into the firing line as cannon fodder before it gives up the fight.

Leaving humanity within the old UE empire close to extinction, a horrific and grim dark result.

Damn, does Boshen count as one of those factions? They're not trying to become emperor, or separate completely. But they want to become their own people (in order to gain more profit of course)

Yep, any groups like that will try to escape the UE, and no one will come out un scarred.

This will be the worst part of the war and will set the scene for the end of the UE to come, but I don't thin k they will go down without taking someone else with them.

We could put the Empire of Rebels near the end (4300+) and have it be a sign of the end times or something like that

That still leaves us with what the hell are we going to do about The Carter and this timeframe? I'm thinking we could slow down and split this into two events, the first being an attempted coup around The Carter's time that the Emperor crushes and then does something (I don't know what) horrible that recaptures his public's interest. The big Faction split, or the death of the Empire, should probably take place around 4300, and include the Empire turning into a weaponized death factory.

Emperor Max II?

This could be the start of a new arc--the UE's transition to a completely domination-focused, military autocracy. The UE could turn into even bigger douchebags than they were before, and with a military strategy that involves taking the fight to the UUR on every possible front.

We're not killing them, just a change of leadership. A bloody, twisted, evil change in leadershipsmiley: twisted.

It shall be a murder most foul.

(And remember that's murder, not a warm blooded kill)

Alright, first event on our list: Maximilian's Successor.

Hadrisian Zelevas: Born Maximilian Zelevas XVI, Hadrisian stumbled upon ancient archives containing the history of Emperors long before Maximilian, and decided to change his name to that of an Ancient Emperor in protest against his great great great grandfather. Hadrisian has hardly a shred of the original Zelevas line, the original heirs to Maximilian's throne have long since died out, and the point is a matter of some contention, so long as the Emperor never hears of it. Hadrisian desires to bring back the glory of the Old Empire, when all the races after the Endless were knew and Humanity conquered and exterminated dozens of them to achieve dominance over the galaxy.

He believes the Empire has truly fallen into ruin, allowing rebels to take Empire worlds and aliens to present threats to its borders, while the Emperor sits smug in the inner worlds surrounded by his Sherydan guards. Using what royal blood he has as a bargaining chip, Hadrisian has slowly but surely gathered together a large group of conspirators that desire to retake the throne, and he his prepared to use every method at his disposal to claim it.

One possible successor, lets see what we can get going here. Add some evil traits 3smiley: smile.

Explain please?

Do you mind if I make another one that's barely related, but is a lord of a system and is having similar thoughts? So they both begin their own rebellions (without knowing of the other) from opposites of the empire. I guess that each can gain support of their nearby systems by promising the old UE glories? Overall a great idea, I like the detail smiley: biggrin

By the way, new MAC picture haha! XD

I'm sorry that it's lead to this, but happy 200th post (for me)!! Thank you, thank you. And this is even with my "edits" heh. On another note, man it's slowed down, we need to find more time. Last note, if anyone reading this has artistic skills, we need a forum artist smiley: smile

Supreme Commander Zrukov: The current head of the Sheredyn fleet by the beginning of 4300, he has a history of fighting the UUR and has become a bitter man because of the war, losing his family to vile Xenos he has no love of an emperor who cannot protect his own empire. As the leader of the Sheredyn he had the control of the defense fleet protecting the UE throne world, and as the years past and his skills waisted waiting rather then commanding the other Sheredyn fleets in the field he decided enough was enough.

He intended to take his personal guard and travel to the imperial palace, his intent was to personally behead the emperor and take the reins of the UE in its darkest hour and drive home the MAC weapons system by equipping Sheredyn fleets with the weapon and deep striking to the homeworlds of the attacking nations, finally causing a ceasefire in the conflict by the use of WMD's in such a aggressive manner, a stretch by his prediction, but a way to end the war finally.

Pope zend the XXXXV: The leader of the cult of zend, Pope zend has been dodging UE and UUR fleets for many years, seeding the cult on many worlds that came into conflict and during the later stage of the war, when the UE was coming close to defeat the followers of Zend has finally reached the imperial throne world and had converted the workers of the space docks on the surface of the world, the Pope took this chance to unite humanity under the worship of zend.

The Popes goal was to kill the emperor in the imperial place and lead a popular revolution within the failing UE long enough to access the massive reserves of Dust, the Pope would then descend into the stockpile and attempt to gleam from its power, and ascend to become Zend himself.

Using this power he would either unite the galaxy, or watch it burn.

Ideas like that?

Where did you get those? And yeah, exams hit hard. I might make time today because I'm home sick but no promises. The Pope guy seems good, I'm thinking the Commander should be commander of the regular fleet and not the Sherydan, as the Sherydan are incredibly loyal to Maximilian, or so I'm guessing. Zend cultists sneeking through Empire space and setting up churches on hundreds of worlds? That's what I'm talking about.
