Could be in-game, but needs improvement first to even consider it

As nice as the developers are two factions would be a bit greedy. Plus in the lore, they are still galaxies away from the ES side of the universe.

I liked their origin and gameplay, having some similarities with "The Legion" from Sovereign. I would like to see this faction in the game anyway. Good work WhiteWeasel! smiley: approval

Keep in mind i'm still brainstorming here, so some ideas won't be fully realized or changed. As far as tech ideas go, there are two types of unique faction specific tech that exist: Tech that's truly unique to the faction, and a 'better' version of an existing tech.



Unique tech:



Higher Maturation

Has several tiers of it's own

Tier: ? (early game/mid/mid-late)

Branch: Diplomacy & trading

Planetary improvement - ∞ (like Ind>Dust)

Allows for the production of evolved pop. Stops system growth while in use.



Abduction module

Tier ? (early-mid)

Branch: Galactic warfare

Special slot item

1 slot

Can steal the population of a planet. Success is determined by invasion strength and system defence. EDIT: To make it worth the effort, takes two pop per module. Maybe three if not enough.



Greater seed module

Tier ? (early)

Branch: Exploration and expansion

Support/civilian module

Allows the transport/colonizing with evolved pop. Takes up more tonnage and has a higher industry cost to a normal seed mod, beit slightly. No more that 15%



Collective Defenses

Tier: ? (Mid-late)

Branch Galactic warfare

Planetary improvement

+75 defense per evolved pop on system

+5% invasion recovery on system



"Better" tech

Original value in () New is in green Italic for what it's based on



Biological repair systems-Adaptive Glue

+200 (180) Ship hp per battle phase on ship

+70 (60) Fleet hp per turn (all sectors) on ship

+ 0.2 (0.1) module regeneration (inside friendly area) on fleet



Ancillary System Overseer-Cis-oort Satellites

+ 3 Influence area on star system

+ 10% smiley: detection on star system



Global Establishment-Planetary Institute

+ 6 smiley: fids On star system

+ 10 smiley: fids On star system if containing at least 1 evolved pop.



OR



Global Establishment-Non-baryonic Shielding (if this case probably their best tech)

+2 smiley: fids Per smiley: stickouttongueopulation: on star system

+2 smiley: fids Per evolved smiley: stickouttongueopulation: on star system



I really want to make a better general improvement than planetary, but hydro sequencing is already taken by the automatons and I feel Non-baryonic Shielding too long to wait for to make a difference. (You might have already won/lost by that point). Or perhaps make a unique general improvement tech. EDIT: Also perhaps it could be moved down a tier or two on the tech tree as well balanced a little by a slightly higher industry cost than non-baryonic shielding



Also I should feel their land invasions should do less collateral damage to represent their cultural absorption capabilities.

Things such as the laws of war, honor, along with chivalry, are seen as trivial self imposed barriers which are subsequently disregarded; and he is not above literal tooth and claw fighting to win territory. This attitude has earned him hatred and revile amongst the other factions for being pragmatic to a bitter fault."

So not "ARE a benign peaceful race", but WERE smiley: stickouttongue. I don't think we can actually do any corruption yet... and if they evolve their planets to be better, wouldn't they have more an improvement gameplay like automatons than a expansion? But I'm overall impressed with the balancing you've though of for this race. smiley: approval
