Hey all!

As we told you last week, we’re having a new Humankind OpenDev Scenario for everybody* who has pre-purchased the game on Steam! From now until December 28th at 16:00 CET, you can try the game out yourself and let us know what you think.

At more than 100 turns, facing off against 7 other civilizations from the Neolithic to the end of the Early Modern Era, this is the biggest chunk of gameplay we’ve shared with you so far. And as always in OpenDev, we look forward to hearing your feedback about your experience with the game.

So how can you play the Humankind Lucy OpenDev? Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Make sure that HUMANKIND™ is in your Steam library.
    1. If you have pre-purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition on Steam, it should be there already
    2. If you have purchased a Steam key from another retailer, you must Redeem the key on Steam first before proceeding to the next step
  2. Visit GAMES2GETHER
    1. If you already have an account, go ahead and login
    2. If you do not have an account, please create one
  3. Steam connect your G2G account on the rewards page here. If you have already connected your account in the past, you may need to re-sync
  4. Click on the “Lucy OpenDev” reward and hit Redeem.
  5. Go back to your Steam library, and Humankind – OpenDev should appear there automatically

Note: During events like the OpenDev, Games2Gether often experiences periods of intense traffic. If you are having any issues redeeming rewards, syncing accounts, or logging in, then please try again a bit later.

While you wait for it to download, feel free to watch our quick Getting Started video before you dive in:

In this OpenDev scenario, you will be playing as Lucy Adam, star of our recent trailer, but in the full game, you will get to customize your own avatar and share it with your friends. Not just their appearance, but their behavior as an AI opponent as well! You can learn more about that in our Feature Focus on it soon. We’ve also created some special avatars for some of our favorite twitch streamers that you can unlock as AI opponents to play against in Humankind by watching their streams. If you watch enough of their streams, or by other participating streamers, you can even get free access to the Lucy OpenDev!

Eager to get your hands on these cool Avatars or the Lucy OpenDev? Just follow these simple steps to prepare for the Twitch drops:

  1. Make sure you have a Twitch account
  2. Login to your Games2Gether Account (or create one if you need to)
  3. Go to your "Profile" page, and from there to your "Account Settings"
  4. On this page, you can see a button to Link your Twitch account.
  5. After you click this button, you will be prompted to log into twitch and confirm the link
  6. You should be set now. Go and enjoy some HUMANKIND™ streams!

You should get the Streamer Avatars after watching half an hour of their streams. For the LucyOpenDev, you'll have to show a bit more endurance, and watch a total of three hours across any of the participating streamers. Once you have watched enough to gain access, the Lucy OpenDev reward will appear in your Games2Gether Rewards page, and you can redeem it as described above.

We hope you'll have fun with the Lucy OpenDev!

* The Lucy OpenDev is available only in English and only on PC.

Hmm, I am a bit confused. I watched the streams for 3 hours.
Got my unlock in the twitch inventory.
Claimed it.
Moved over here... and I see nothing? No rewards, nothing to link or accept...
Have I missed something? Halp :(

I have to apologize, I didn't see the game because I had masked OpenDev when the first one (Babylon) ended. I realized this was the cause when I saw my Babylon save in the OpenDev (that I reached through the Steam Store, as my previous comment stated).

I have already pre-purchased the game, but the reward hasn't appeared. I have already refreshed this page several times and it still hasn't shown up. Is there something I am missing I followed the directions to a T and still haven't received it?

it helped me to re-sync the steam account. On the rewards side there should be a button "Sync my Account"

Something is wrong with the games2gether system. I'm pre-logged-in to both Steam and games2gether but when I go to sync it ALWAYS makes me log back in to games2gether, and then fails to do anything afterwards. Also every time I close the games2gether tab, I have to log back in, every single time, which is infuriating.

Edit: This is ridiculous. Why do we have to jump through all these hoops to get the OpenDev again? If we have the pre-order redeemed to our account why can't we just get the opendev added in another way like we did before? This is leaving a sour taste about it already

For all of you that have the Lucy badge here, go here : https://www.games2gether.com/profile/me/rewards and click on the Open Dev Lucy picture, and then click on the lower right button to redeem on steam.

For people that have peordered on Steam: Make sure in your steam settings that your profile is public, resync steam on the reward page and then you should go to reward page.

For people having some issues after the Twitch Drop we are looking into an issue that some people seems to have.

There seems to be an issue with Lewis persona drop on the twitch side. There will be an amplitude's stream to get all missing IA.

@ImperialSupremacy it seems that when you synced Steam API were down. You can use the Sync button and it should unlock the badge, and the reward.

My accounts have been linked for a while but still no Lucy :(

You'll need to sync them again! That way it can update with your new Humankind purchase. :)

Is there anyway to have the Steam access code emailed so we can put it in manually? My internet guy installed an old modem instead of a new one, so I get as far as having SEGA attempt to log me in then I get a 404 error. T_T

Had the same error the first time I tried. Try again. ;)

I have exactly the same issue as Shr3ku

I had this issue too:

- logged out of games2gether.com

- logged out of steam

- logged back in games2gether.com

- redeemed and allowed SEGA to add to my library

- started steam again and lucy was in my library...

For those who get stuck trying to sync their Steam account with games2gether and/or getting an error allowing Sega to redeem CD keys, try unlinking and relinking your Steam account from Profile -> Account Settings. It worked for me after that.

Regarding those streamer skins, does one need to watch 30m of each of those streamers, or does it need to be 30m of only one, to unlock the whole thing?

And does it need to be specifically those, or can any streamer that is streaming the game, with drops activated, give that unlock?

thanks

Hey, where can I submit my problem with game? I've reached turn 128 and game started to stutter and stop responding, thankfully I managed to save it before total freeze.

Man I was gonna coming in here all fuming but now that I see I'm not the only one experiencing some technical issue, I guess I'll just hang around and hope the issue resolve itself.

It took about an hour for the site to automatically show my Lucy reward.

After creating my G2G account, linked my Steam account. Pre-Purchased the game in Steam, came back here to not find the reward, I then re-synched my Steam account (it took several tries), then about an hour later I got a Lucy avatar/badge thingy here and was able to see the Lucy reward.
