Trade has fueled relations and rivalries throughout human history, but it only flows freely if both sides feel they can benefit. That benefit doesn’t have to be equal, though, and sometimes it comes in the form of cold, hard coin. Just how much money can you make in your seat of power, and how will you optimize your profits?

Scenario Conditions

  • Difficulty: Nation
  • Speed: Normal
  • End Conditions: Any, except pollution
  • Game version: Bonny Update, No DLC, no Mods

IMPORTANT: Please make sure all DLC and other additional content are disabled before you load the save. In the past, we have noticed severe technical issues if players mentioned to load a save while different DLC was active.

As this scenario is provided through a save file, these conditions cannot be changed, and they are listed only for your information. The save should remain compatible with future versions of the game, but this is not guaranteed.

How to play the scenario

  1. Download the save Scenario-NavalTrade.ctr
  2. Place the save in “/Documents/Humankind/Save Files”
  3. Load the save labeled “Scenario-NavalTrade” in game
  4. Play to and trade to make yourself into the wealthiest person in the game.
For the leaderboard, winning is defined as the most income from trade in your capital.
  5. Submit a score to the leaderboard, as described below

How to Submit Your Score to the Leaderboard

  1. On your victory turn, create a manual save with your G2G username and turn number in the name
  2. Take a screenshot of your income breakdown in your capital city
  3. Create a thread in the Scenario 12 Contest Section, please mention your total income from trade in the title or text
  4. Include the save and screenshots in your submission post
  5. If you have played again and wish to submit a new score:
  • Reply to your existing thread with a new post including save and screenshot
  • Do not edit your original post with the new score
  • Please do not forget to update your own submission thread, even if you have shared your new score somewhere else

Important Note: Please do not rename the save file through your OS. If you rename the save file (instead of changing the name in game when saving), this change will not display correctly in game if we have to check the save.

All entries will be added to the leaderboard, ranked by how much money from the trade they are making per turn in their capital. In case of a tie, higher fame scores will be ranked higher.

While everybody will be entered into the Leaderboard displayed in the contest section after the challenge ends, only the top players will be worthy of entering the “Hall of Fame” and receiving a special Games2Gether badge to commemorate their success. Please note that the badges may not be ready by the end of the challenge, and you may receive them later.

Clarifying Question:  Under "How to Play the Scenario," bullet #4 says "For the leaderboard, winning is defined as the most income from trade in your capital."  But the 2nd to last paragraph of this post says "All entries will be added to the leaderboard, ranked by how much money they are making per turn in the capital.  So is the primary win indicator...

  1. Money per turn in your capital; OR
  2. Money per turn from trade in your capital.

Edit: Adjusted to make it more clear!

Could you also clarify what is money from trade? There are: 1) Money from trade rotes AND 2) Money from traders - is it sum of both? or which one?
