I am not so sure if they should add winter as a mechanic. At least at the beginning seasons should be fairly predictable. But how long should a winter last in Humankind? Changing seasons every other turn would disrupt the gameplay too much.

On the other hand they could include climate change. So (a freaking hot) Summer is coming instead? It could built up over the course of the game or just be a late game feature. We could have surges of hottnes instead of winter.

Please no 'climate change' mechanic.   If I wanted that I'd buy the latest Civ update.   But I don't want that.  

of corse the winter wont be the center at the gameplay but seasons would be nice to have. A good nature simulation would always good for 4x and a setting where you play throughout ages. Industrial revolution have to start destroying the nature and with the endless need of power in modern times we have to witness tge complete annahilation of parts of nature

I doubt we will see a winter mechanic. Or a global warming mechanic. But it could appear in a future DLC maybe, same as in Civ

Winter is a season not a climate change phenomena
